Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Knoxville/East

Everything was great!

Elevator was out if order! This is a hotel emergency, and dhould be fixed IMMEDIATELY by the repair entity that the Billion dollar Marriot
corporation paid to be on retainer for just such an occurrence. When the desk clerk was asked for a 1st floor room, she got very snippy, nasty and sarcastic, asking why I didn't reserve a handicapped room if I needed one. I'm not handicapped, just 80 yrs. old and unable to carry 3 suitcases up 2-3 flights of stairs. I also would never imagine the (single) elevator at a (Marriott) hotel to be out of service. A prior email (it was a reserved room, with an email address available) would have been appropriate, with the option of a no penalty cancellation, or the offer of compensation for any probable inconvenience should the case arise. After the scowling, grunting, mumbling clerk perused her computer, she did grudgingly provide the requested room. This lady made no friends for the Marriott with her attitude, and the Marriott itself dropped the ball by allowing the most necessary piece of it's equipment to remain inoperable for any but the briefest time. We'll not be staying at a Marriott property in the future!

The elevator was broken the whole time. My sister got stuck in it.
I had ants all over my room

Cockroach in bathroom. Left for management to destroy. Told hostess, asked for management to call. Still waiting….

TV didn't work. Had to move rooms right away.Our keys didn't work the first night in the evening. Didn't seem to know we were staying 2 nights.

Highway noise

Hotel staff was rude (lady working the morning or overnight shift). She seemed so bothered each time I had to come up to the desk (one to check in, 2 to ask for more towels, 3 when checking out). They put me in an accessible room when I checked in. I went back to the front desk and asked to not be in an accessible room and that I booked a king with a sofa.
Was told they don’t have rooms with sofas and she doesn’t know why it’s available on booking.com. We finally got into a different room and the door wouldn’t shut without pulling handle all the way down. Even when leaving out we had to pull the handle down from the inside and then the one on the outside for it to shut. The toilet handle was broke and wouldn’t release on its own so we had to make sure to release it our self or the toilet wouldn’t flush but would constantly run. The ceiling above the shower looked like it was going to fall down. Could use some “fluffier” pillows.
