Palazzo Marcello Hotel al Sole

My sister and I stayed for 4 nights and it was fantastic. I loved the location as it is away from the touristy areas and there were a lot of terrific restaurants around. They have a beautiful courtyard where you can sit and enjoy a drink, the breakfast had lots of selection and the BEST scrambled eggs of our whole trip! I would certainly stay here again without any hesitation. One more plus was the very spacious room and another cute sitting area just outside the door of our room in the common area.

Nice hotel. Room was very small, but adequate. The bed was king sized and relatively comfy (it could use a foam pad on top). Our shower was a little odd. There is no fan in the bathroom, but you can't open the window if you are using the shower head because it gets in the way. The shower head is also mounted on the side wall instead of the wall by the short end of the tub so it's very easy to get water on the floor. It's on a hose so you can pull it down to rinse yourself off, but if you want to stand under it it's tricky.

The breakfast was excellent and had a lot of variety.

It is a quick 200m walk to the train/bus station which is good if you are dragging luggage over bridges. There is a water taxi dock right in front, but they are really expensive so if you can you should walk. It's about a 40min walk to St. Mark's which is quite pleasant.

Staff was very good. Friendly and very helpful. Great location, historical old palace vibe in lobby and garden are was cool. Rooms were clean but a little dated but adequate for our stay.

Our first stop on our wonderful trip to Italy. We took the water taxi from the airport right to the front of the hotel. This is a small and charming hotel in a historic building with a lovely courtyard, a breakfast room and a bar area. The rooms aren’t lavish but comfortable and clean and we were happy with our choice. The hotel staff is warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. They were very accommodating to any and all requests. They offered several recommendations for restaurants nearby on our first evening there. The hotel is with walking distance to all the points of interest and the train station. Near the hotel we found lovely pizazzas where you can enjoy a cappuccino and cicchetti while watching the bustle at market stalls and lively cafes. Twisting narrow streets to explore and a variety of shops and restaurants nearby. There is a great coffee and pastry shop right next door to the hotel or you can enjoy a lovely complimentary breakfast buffet in the hotel’s courtyard. We absolutely loved Venice and were very happy with our stay here. Thank you to all your charming staff for making us feel so welcome. We hope to visit you again on our next trip to Venice!

Great location for entering and exiting Venice. It was an 8 min walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk to the taxi stand. Gondolas are right in front of the hotel. Breakfast was very good.

Great hotel 2nd time we have been. Staff, rooms, and breakfast all excellent. Easy to get to from bus and train stations. Will be hopefully staying again next year.

Very short walk from bus station and close to Peoplemover and train station. Lovely rooms, comfi beds, great breakfast and nice staff. Enjoyed our stay thank you.

Great hotel right by the canal. About a 10 minute walk from the train station and boat ferries. Very friendly staff and great breakfast. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great location, walkable from the train and bus station. Bathroom was small and had some minor maintenance issues. Breakfast was great.

Excellent hotel Great location. 5 mins from La Roma bus station, 10 mins from Ferrovia train station. Walking distance to a lot of major attractions. Had a room canal view room. Was basic but very comfortable. Great high ceilings and comfy bed. I slept well and overall the hotel was quiet. Only noise was from other guests coming and going.
Breakfast was good with choices something for everyone. Watch out for the pidgeons stealing your food in outside garden.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Property interior decor was very pleasing to the eye. The view just outside the main entrance was also good because of the canal,bridge and old surrounding buildings were right in front of you. The breakfast selection was also good. The outside eating area was very attractive. Very satisfied.

If you like small hotels with an old charm, friendly staff, great location, and perfect service, the Palazzo Marcello hotel in Venice would be a great choice.
The hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from Piazzale Roma (where one way or another you will end up in with your luggage) so walking through the cobbled stone alleys of Venice with suitcases become less of a drag. It is also within a walking distance of major attractions such as Rialto bridge (20 minutes), the Accademia Bridge (15 minutes) and San Marco Square (25 minutes).
Breakfast is great, with nice variety of backed goods, chesses, vegetables, juices and coffee. Eating in the quite inner courtyard under vines full of wisteria and clematis flowers is a real treat.
The rooms was specious with a large bathroom and a working AC (so important and rare in Venice). The room has minibar with some drinks (extra cost), coffee set, toiletries and computer size safe. The bed are huge and comfortable and the view of the canal and the bridge makes you smile every morning.
The room could use a paint job to spruce it up and the windows could definitely use a clean up so the beautiful view can be truly admired.
I liked the old fashion feel, the brick posts, wood beams, tiled floors and the keys that are so big that need to be left with reception - just like in the old days.

Lovely hotel for the price. Charming building, very close to station and entrance to the island. Staff were very helpful. Air conditioning was excellent and everything else was very comfortable.

Beautiful room and great location

We enjoyed our stay! Very walkable area and very close to Piazzale Roma which was a big plus!

The communication couple days before arrival was great. Check in qas quick with information provided to us about the surrounding area.
Walking distance to the bus terminal and to train station. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
The room is very outdated and old, the shower was very small, carpet near the front door had stains. The lighting in our room was none existabt, we had to habe lights on all the time.
Our room(117) was in a corner, the windows facing a deserted alleyway with no proper window security. We always jad to look our staff in the suitcase when we left the room. Room was clean with housekeeping coming daily to tidy up

Staff are excellent with customer service and recommendations for food and activities. This is an older hotel but nice amenities with a nice garden area and bar.
