Tembo B&B Apartments

The Tembo B&B Apartments are not in the main hotel and is a short walk away. Our room was on the third floor and the building was on old one in Stone Town without any elevator. Tembo management as well as Expedia should have made it clear to us before reserving this place. There is zero view from the windows/balcony except for depleted buildings around and one could not open up the curtains to get light into the room. The phots shown on the Expedia website fare for the hotel and NOT of the B&B apartments. Strongly recommend to chose the hotel instead of the B&B Apartments unless you prefer to stay in a glorified hostel.

It's location is good with

Hotel has buildings spread around the neighbourhood our room was150m from the main hotel and breakfast area. The positive was it was more quite to the road and call to prey noice!
Breakfast was good. Although a larger hotel it doesn’t sell alcohol so you tend not to use the facilities of an evening.

We stayed in the apartments, which cost a fraction of the main building, but also had full access to all hotel amenities.

Stayed at the apartment with access to the main hotel facilities. The room was spacious, furniture was a bit dated but I guess that helps to maintain the charm of the hotel. The shower had no door and nowhere for us to put our shower accessories. It seems to be newly renovated bit there were some minor issues that was taken care of promptly. The service at this hotel was impeccable! The doormen always ensured we were safe and taken care of. The breakfast was one of the best I ever had at any hotel. The beach was nice and I loved that we got to see local life- not too touristy. Overall a very good stay here.

This hotel is separated into two buildings with the second one a bit of a walk away from the main hotel and no views of the ocean. It’s a bit loud at night and outdated but worked for the price.

Boendet ligger 2-3min gång från det riktiga hotellområdet. Lite svårt att ta sig dit och det finns inga hissar.

Väldigt bra service, framförallt av Roboni som hjälpte oss med att boka taxi och utflykter till ett bra pris.
Frukosten stor men något ensidig, inte den bästa.
Det serveras inte alkohol i restaurangen men helt ok mat.

Väldigt gott om solstolar, två pooler och ligger precis på stranden.
Lugnt och fridfullt trots att det ligger mitt i smeten.

I have earlier made a review, this thime is the same, i extended as i liked the place and what they can offer, great breakfast, spacious rooms, and use of the main hotels swimming pool and all other that is there. is a short distance away, but definatly worth it

Loved our stay at the tempo b&b! The staff was amazing, especially the two men that helped us with our bags to the room. The dining room is right on the beach so you can have your breakfast staring out at the ocean. From our studio room, we were on the top floor and had a nearly 360 degree water view and we were right in the middle of the touristy part of town.

The only confusing part is that you check in at the main Tempo Hotel - but they help you get your bags to the b&b which is maybe a two minute walk!

The staff was so warm and accommodating. They helped us with every request needed. I particular appreciated them escorting us back to the apartment at night to ensure we got to the room safely. I would highly recommend Tembo Hotel/Apartments to other guests.

Nice hotel in the main area of Stone Town. The B&B was close to the main hotel and for half the price it was worth the short walk for breakfast and the pool. It’s right on the beach as well which is nice to watch the sunset at night. The apartments were a bit noisy at night but overall a nice place. They have an airport pick up which was easy and a short drive. Laundry service was available as well. Only note is that the gentleman who supported the B&B was pushy about getting us on a tour or using their taxi services despite being told we didn’t need assistance.

Great staff and great location.

This was a quick stopover for my family, It was a serviceable room in the heart of Stone Town for a few hours until we went to the airport, but we did not spend the night here.

Nice spacious room a minute or so walk away from the main Tembo hotel (where check in and all facilities are located) Hotel has very nice pools and is directly on the beach. The area of the beach is a busy area with many of the small boats boarding passengers arriving/departing for day trips. If you intend to visit the Tortoise Sanctuary on prison island, you couldn’t be better located. The Freddie Mercury museum is also a 2 min walk away. The hotel is not licensed to sell alcohol, but there is a very nice bar/resturant next door called Livingstones. Continental breakfast selection is pretty reasonable. All in all, the overall experience was very good and offered good value.

The property is hidden, and a small walk from the main Tembo hotel, but what makes up for it is the wonderful staff. Their friendliness, and willing to assist you at everything. The breakfast menu was amazing, a mix of everything which was very pleasant. The rooms can use alittle bit of an upgrade, and they should probably prohibit photo sessions from people on the streets, as there was alot of flash on the outside (but maybe an exception because of the public holiday). I would definitely stay again. Thank you

Rented the studio flat in the outbuilding (3 min walk from main hotel), did have to climb four flight of stairs but the room was worth it. Brilliant air con, washing machine and the bed and bathroom were great!

Couldn't find the cable channels on the TV but that may have been my lack of tech knowledge.

Main restaurant had good variety of food although service was typically slightly slow.

Would definitely stay here again.

Very good location to visit Stone Town, excellent breakfast, very clean, the two pools were clean. All the staff is very helpful and extremely polite. I recommend this Hotel.
