Very cozy and visually appealing hotel
Pros:

Hotel was very nice. Loved all the greenery. Room was unique and cool.

Cons:

Parking situation was a bit of a pain for a first time guest. Also was not aware that there was a daily parking fee if driving a POV.

Pros:

Good coffee and good breakfast.

Cons:

We like cool hipster hotels, but this one is not cool, it looks cheap. Defenitely not worth the price.
Beds are small.

Peaceful & Cute!
Pros:

Location was great, just out of the chaos of downtown & congress st, but an easy lime bike or uber away.

There’s a peaceful ambience to the hotel, the coffee bar is excellent & adorable. I’d definitely stay here again.

Cons:

The bed wasn’t very comfortable. I got the queen room, I’d upgrade to the king next time for more space & light.

Great for families, couples, or solo. Quiet rooms. Beautiful hotel in great location.
Pros:

Fantastic experience. Hotel was clean, beautiful, and perfect for what we needed. Family came while I was there for business. Pool was great and clean. Rooms are very quiet and my husband even said he couldn’t hear the shower from the living quarters. Water gets very warm/hot and water pressure was great (important to me). Staff were very helpful and friendly. Can’t beat the quality, price, and location. I’m recommending this hotel to family and friends.

An Austin Gem
Pros:

First stay at The Carpenter and definitely not our last. The kitchen provided one of the best meals I have had in Austin. The room was fun. The theme and design throughout was so thoroughly well executed. The pool was charming. The staff was ON POINT at every interaction. Friendly. Helpful. Wonderful. But most of all was what my partner and I talked about—the hotel feels like an oasis. You don't have the feeling you're sitting off of two busy roads. The trees, plants, and layout of the property give a nice seclusion. We were reminded of our recent trip to Costa Rica.

Really cool, quirky place. Really feels like it's got a community vibe. Very well designed.
Pros:

Loved the location near the lake and river. Great bars and restaurant near by. Everything you could want and need in an area. Amazing bar and food. Really cool vibe, it feels like a hub for creatives.

Cons:

The rooms were a touch small. But very comfortable. There were dogs barking outside our window.

Unique space, excellent guest service
Pros:

We chose the Carpenter Hotel as our weekend stay for my birthday and our 10 year anniversary. Absolutely beautiful and uniquely designed space, extremely clean, and the staff was incredibly kind and efficient. The only disappointment for me, was that we mentioned it was a very special occasion, and there wasn't anything really offered for that. Other than that, I cannot think of a place we have stayed in a very long time that was better than The Carpenter. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

Neutral experience
Pros:

My experience wasn't awful but it wasn't amazing. For the price point of $300 per night maybe I expected a little more pizzaz in the room. It was too dark for my liking. I will say everything was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom looked cool, front desk staff was great, I was just a little let down with the overall room itself.

Beautiful Utility
Pros:

Great vibe, and will stay here again for the ease and atmosphere. Love the little balcony and robes, even the items for purchase in the lobby are cool. A couple of pointers: get the king bed because the queen... wasn't. Coffee is super convenient and tasty. Didn't eat anything here beyond a quick grab and go from the coffee bar. Really great for us since we had our dog along for the trip, and would rec to other dog parents on the road. It's also super convenient to the Palmer Events center if you've got something going on there.
