The views were exceptional
Lovely owners and stunning location. Breakfast was amazing with excellent quality ingredients. I also liked the stunning entrance hall and the beautiful architecture of the building. STUNNING!
Room was a little small and in need of up dating, although clean it was a bit tired and could do with a few extra bits!
Hairdryer maybe, better coffee mugs and it was very dusty behind the bed and around sockets.
We arrived a little early but we're told the room apwas almost ready, to be honest we aimed to get there early so we could use the terrace area !
The room was a turret room and had three windows overlooking the bay.
The bar area was good with excellent views over the bay, and some dolphins very kindly appeared for us which we watched for a good few minutes.
Parking is good, and due to the number of rooms, I wouldn't expect you'd be pushed to find a place if you turn up later.
The restaurant is nice, if its not too windy, the conservatory area has beautiful views, so long as you look past the caravan site and housing below.
Food was nice, although the lamb we had was delicious, the swordfish was a little bland, but overall with the starters we were happy.
Its fair to say that the hotel could do with a little care and attention, the room was good, but the decor is startup g to show it's age. The bathroom was basic but functional, but as with a lot of hotels in the UK, it could do with being better thought out, there is a lack of flat surfaces for bathroom items, which for one night isn't a great problem, but for two or more you'll find it a bit of a balancing act.
Being a turret room, it does look onto the balcony for the two rooms beside it, so for privacy, you'll need to keep the curtain/blind down.
Great position
Bathroom bit small
The view
Dirty, dusty, smelt musty. So bad we left without staying the night
Great food & brilliant views - great friendly staff
resturuant in full sun - so very hot!
The hotel was gorgeous, I was worried that because it was so old that the facilities might have been a bit dated but everything functioned really well and was really clean. It had a wonderful terrace to watch the sunset and the service and breakfast was wonderful. It's also walking distance to the town which was handy
The bar was old, and even though it was very beautiful, they didn't have many options, specifically non alcoholic options. Other than that, it was really lovely
Very nice staff and outside space
The food for evening meal salmon was lovely but the Gammon very tough . Reported this to the waiter but gor no feedback from management . Paid in full . Wine was reasonable
Very friendly staff and good breakfast
Hotel in need of modernising particularly the bedrooms
Great building with an interesting history. Fantastic room. Breakfast was great - plenty of choice. We stayed 2 night and had a delicious evening meal both nights great value for money.
Bathroom was a little small but perfectly adequate.
Everything this is our second time stopping at this hotel and will return
The room had a beautiful view of beach and sea, the breakfast in the conservatory had the same wonderful view, there was so much choice for breakfast all delicious and local sourced.
The room was a fair size with easy to use shower on suite with nice biscuits, tea and coffee included.
Everything was lovely, we have been staying here 8 years now and still love it.
Location
Not a lot
Its location was fantastic, with the sunsets so beautiful, we was also lucky enough to see a dolphin in the bay
The hotel is very good and the way the ground floor has been kept exactly when it was built all those years ago shows great craftsmanship. It hotel rooms are looking tired and in need of some decorative repairs. We stayed in the standard turret which had great views over the harbour. The bathroom arrangement is not easy because the way the building is built but I do think there are better options that can make the rooms so much better.
