the staff were absolutely brilliant the place needs alot of work/money spent on it

The staff were very friendly and very welcoming they were absolutely brilliant

Cons:

we were put into a room to which the bed , and bed side lamp were broken, the window blind was broken and was stuck have way down the window, the bathroom was bad a bit of board on the floor in front of the shower as i should think the floor under it was maybe rotten , the ceiling was flaking and covered with black mould ,.
we were moved to a different room on the morning we were leaving we were given a bill for £45. pounds for the move from room 10 to room 6 i refused to pay it as the first room was not up to standard and we did not sleep well due to the bed and the damp smell coming from the bathroom..
the spinless owners gave this bill to one of their members of staff to give to us that alone put a dampener on our brake.
yet the night before they were laughing and joking with us in the bar with out any mention of wanting us to pay extra.

Was a lovely stay the staff owners and staff was very friendly and helpful
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent value for money couldn’t fault it staff was lovely friendly and very happy to accommodate with anything we asked

Cons:

We didn’t know some rooms was refurbished so on our next visit and we will re visit we will upgrade but the Bonus was we had a bath we don’t have a bath at home so it was great to have a relaxing 20 mins in bubbles 😁

Pros:

Breakfast was excellent and the location was great for visiting the eastern lakes.

Cons:

Some things weren't working properly (lamps, radiators), but these were quickly remedied by the owners.

Great Hotel
Pros:

Really enjoyed our stay. Great pub and lovely owners that made sure me and my dog Begbie felt very welcome. The room was extremely comfortable and clean exactly what we needed after a long day in the hills. Super friendly locals and good food even threw in a extra sausage with my breakfast for the pooch. Very good value as well 10/10 stay and would definitely recommend.

Pros:

Ran by Mel and Clive for 12 years.
They're selling for £625,000 as Clive is 71 and apparently has dementia. Both are very friendly, as is Helen who served us breakfast the first morning.

Cons:

I think we missed being served ahead of someone else on the second morning
