Please note there is a 1.5% surcharge when you pay with Visa or Mastercard (including debit cards), Apple Pay, American Express, Union Pay and Diners credit card. Payments made with cash, savings or checking accounts are fee-free.

Please note that The Ultimo requires an AUD 50 credit card pre-authorization, or AUD 200 cash or Eftpos deposit upon check in to cover any incidental charges. A credit card pre-authorization is a freeze placed on your account by your financial institution and is not a debit to the account.

Upon check-out, any outstanding balance owed will be confirmed and debited to the card provided. If the balance is zero the full amount will release back to your account within the next 5–7 working days from your financial institution.

Please note that pets can only be accommodated in the Ultimo Courtyard Rooms.

Covid-19 vaccination record requirement applies to all guests aged 16 years and older. No entry to the hotel unless you can provide proof of full vaccination or a medical exemption

Don't book here - false advertising.
Pros:

The room had aircon

Cons:

What was advertised on the website is not what the room looks like. And when the enquiry was made to why this was the case and if there was a mistake in assigning the rooms, the staff member was very rude and offered no solutions or apology. The room also smelled like urine.

A very nice hotel in Chinatown.
Pros:

Great location very close to the Sydney Central rail station. Great food all around.

Cons:

That we only stayed one night before our trip to Melbourne.

This hotel is always my first choice when I'm in Sydney - it just does everything I need it to!
Pros:

Great for exploring the city, but not the best for a quiet rest
Pros:

Great location and the hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff were also very helpful when we raised a concern during our stay and kindly upgraded us to another room on our next visit, which we really appreciated.

Cons:

Unfortunately the soundproofing seems quite limited. During the first two nights our room was next to the housekeeping office and there was quite a bit of noise early in the morning (doors, conversations, etc.), which made it difficult to get a good rest. Even after moving rooms it was still a bit noisy, although definitely better.

No mattress protectors on beds
Pros:

Great location

Cons:

No mattress protectors on the beds. We slept on top of the bed anyway as the room was that hot despite air con on max. When I informed staff in the morning they stated the mattress protectors had probably been stolen. I doubt it.

Pros:

The staff were welcoming & very helpful. Room was large & very comfortable with no noise from outside. Location was excellent in China Town & within easy reach of Darling Harbour & the Quays.

Cons:

Nothing. Work was ongoing in reception but did not detract from my stay. Not a complaint but would have been great to have breakfast on site!
