I loved the location. Put us in the French quarter. Blocks away from public transit and within walking distance anywhere in the French quarter.
Nothing. It was superb.
Location is excellent. Staff very helpful.
Our room was very small. Not enough room to open our luggage. No drawer to unpack.
What a wonderful surprise! Not only the location, but everything about The French Market Inn was just great. Wonderful people, room…we LOVED it.
The Best hotel of the city
This hotel is a beautifully maintained building from the 1800s featuring an antique brick facade and a lobby adorned with chandeliers, columns, and period paintings. Our room had an "old-world" feel, featuring original exposed brick walls, beamed ceilings, was exceptionally clean, and was well-maintained. When guided to our room, we walked through a series of lush, stone-paved tropical courtyards that offered a magical and peaceful oasis from the city's noise, complete with gas lamps, fountains, and a small outdoor pool. The staff was fantastic, helpful, attentive, and went out of their way to provide restaurant recommendations, book tours, and offered much needed advice! The hotel is just steps from the Mississippi River and within walking distance to major attractions including Jackson Square, the French Market, and Bourbon Street. It is an ideal home base for exploring the French Quarter on foot. We will be back and Thank you for such an enjoyable stay!
Great value
The location was fantastic! Right by the water of the Mississippi River, 5 min walk to Bourbon street, and right next door to a tourism office, souvenir shops, and great restaurants.
One thing I really wanted to do was the award winning WW2 museum, and that’s a straight shot walk, about 15-20 min depending on your pace, but it’s a straight line to get there.
The hotel is well kept and clean; the mattress was fantastic, it’s probably the best sleep I’ve had for a while! It’s close enough to Bourbon Street to experience all of that, but with enough distance to have a quiet peaceful sleep.
The parking is a little confusing, so make sure you understand it before you go if you’re a planner like I am. We booked parking in advance and I was under the impression we’d pull up and a valet would take the car. That’s not the case, we had to drive about 10 blocks away and then a valet took possession of the vehicle. In hindsight I would have not booked parking with my hotel reservation because there was actually a parking lot right across the street. That’s my only slightly negative comment, and it really wasn’t a big deal, just a lesson learned.
The courtyard and pool are so quaint and I’d love to go back when it’s warmer weather to fully appreciate the pool. We went in January so I didn’t use it, but we spent time in the courtyard.
To summarize, I would definitely do a return visit, and I would definitely recommend to others!
I stayed here for three nights and absolutely loved it. The lovely historic building has a cozy feel, and the room was clean and comfortable. The shower had great water pressure, and the room had everything I needed.
The location was perfect. It was close to major tourist attractions, yet the room was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. I traveled solo, but I didn’t have any safety concerns near the hotel.
The staff were amazing. They were attentive and made me feel very welcome.
This was a fabulous stay! From the time we checked in until we left. The hotel is beautiful, and everything was clean, from the room, lobby, and outside area. Our flight was canceled and they extended our stay one more night, without any fuss, or problems! Can't say enough about the front desk girls! They were awesome!!!! I loved this place. You won't be disappointed here! Great location also
Location is absolutely perfect to get to anything. Staff really cares. You feel super safe.
Hervorragende Lage fußläufig zu den meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal. Nostalgische Ausstattung.
Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Fenster, dennoch gab es keinerlei Lüftungsmöglichkeit. Die Luft war daher etwas abgestanden.
Amazing location, quality accommodations, and friendly service. Kevin especially went above and beyond in making our group feel welcome and taken care of.
Location and Staff were very helpful and nice. They helped book tours for us and helped with things to do and where to eat.
