Amazing hotel!!! Excellent in every way! Immaculate rooms and facilities. Gourmet food. This family owned establishment is a gem of a place. I would highly recommend staying here and dinning here. I never write reviews but thought I really needed to because this place is an exceptional find. I give Hotel A Viega ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
On the Camino and stayed a night in Hotel A Viega. Wonderful hosts who go out of their way to serve... be it helping us attend Mass or translating the awesome menu to English. The hotel was lovely, food at the restaurant was great and the setting was serene. Special thanks to Moses who was an incredible host.
Stayed here one night on the El Camino.
Large room and bathroom, spotlessly clean, comfy bed, warm tucked all the boxes.
Breakfast has more options than the standard continental breakfast
Restaurant was surprisingly good and the wood fire roasted meats were a standout, all at good prices
I stayed at this hotel after a few flights and both the room and food in the restaurant lived up to expectations. Breakfast here is the standard "continental" fare with a good selection of cold cuts and local cheeses etc.
Resumiendo : el mejor, más relajante fin de semana de mi vida. Buena relación calidad precio.
We’re on the Camino trail and this hotel was a jewel in the crown. The service was excellent, the rooms were functional for a one night stay, lovely flowers, great breakfast and the hosts were really good. I don’t think they spoke any English (we had a guide who did all the translation)
After a long flight from Singapore to London, then London to A Coruna - what I needed most was a super clean place and comfortable bed : I am very satisfied with what Hotel A Veiga provided! Not sure how old is the hotel byt seemed to me a new place with clean sheets and everything was neat and comfortable. Glad to have found such a comfortable place in a small town. Breakfast was good too! So glad they had eggs and good coffee!
We found this hotel halfway through our holiday and went every night afterwards.
The food was fabulous, as was the service. Its a very nice setting looking over a little river. Dinner at night is not served until 8.30 but always seems to be popular with the locals.
Rooms were very atmospheric and well equipped except no air conditioning - had to sleep with window open. Friendly staff, food was great - although if you want other options there are other restaurants / cafes nearby if you walk up the lane and turn left to Herrias.
You deserve a nice hotel like this if you are on the Camino - the next stage from here is straight uphill
Our attentive waiter had great gluten free options for dining and all the food was excellent for oil our dinner and a full breakfast. Puts American hotels to shame. The location is on the Camino and very quiet with pastoral surroundings.
SENSACIONAL!
We were on the Camino and staying in Samos. We were looking for somewhere to eat and went into the Taverna O'Gayo where we met the owner of the "A" Vejga,
He drove us round to his restaurant where we enjoyed an excellent meal.
Afterwards he drove us back to our hotel.
A very pleasant evening
Stayed here overnight (Dinner, B&B) during our camino walk. We arrived after a long hot day (34km) and were delighted with the welcome, the location and the service.
It has all the facilities needed for an enjoyable stay and we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. There is a good bar (and bar snack food), plus a full service restaurant, with inside and outside dining areas.
The bedroom was clean and comfortable, a good bathroom/shower and a wonderful view over the garden, stream and woods.
Our 'pilgrim dinner' was excellent, as was the local wine recommended by our waiter. Breakfast the next morning was one of the best we experienced during our 2 week trip and only cost €5 each. The total cost of our stay, accommodation and meals was an incredibly cheap €80 for 2.
Highly recommended for anybody thinking of visiting/staying in Samos.
We are an amazing lunch here. The service was great. Galician soup was delicious as was the beef stew. Portions were gigantic. We didn't stay in the hotel but it looked lovely. The dining room was peaceful looking out over the river (into the rain)
This was one of the most beautiful hotels on the Camino. The room was tastefully decorated and the view was awesome. The owner was very helpful. The restaurant menu looked wonderful but dinner was served only at 8:30pm, a bit late for tired pilgrims.
It was a very nice quiet place in the beautiful countryside. The accommodation was very good and comfortable, it was also extremely clean. The owners were very nice and friendly and also very helpful. The meals here were delicious and I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.
This hotel is exceptional value.
Located on the Camino for easy start right outside the door .
Arriving into village via the Camino , the hotel is at the opposite end of the street to the monastery .
Monastery is 5 minute walk.
Don't be misled by the price to stay .
This hotel is lovely . Exceptionally clean . Modern but quaint.
Exceptional value . I had a room to myself .
I arrived very early in the morning, and I was surprised to learn that my room was available: what a relief! The room was spacious, it had two single beds, and a basic, but clean bathroom.
I ate lunch at the hotel. They offered a very delicious soup, merluza and macedonia de frutas. Early breakfast is continental, with good coffee, toasts and pastries.
Great service and very hospitable staff.
I recommend this hotel.
Stayed four nights whilst walking on the Camino. Everyone very helpful and obliging. The menu of the day was terrific value and extremely well cooked and presented. Rooms very clean, could have done with a better shower attachment, but all in all a tranquil spot.
This family run hotel has charm. The staff are very helpful. The food is excellent and freshly prepared. They even grow their own vegetables.
I would recommend this hotel and the value for money is outstanding.
