This hotel is not a Windgate its a Baymont its definitely not a 3.5 star its more of a 2 ceiling was dusty needs to be pressure washed walls had holes in them water damage to the ceiling smelled molded pool was terrible the rooms was suppose to be a suite with sofa couch not in room was told they didn't have rooms like that but you advertise it online if it wasn't late and I wasn't going to a funeral I would've checked out and slept in my car
place is dearly in need of updating and major cleaning, a lot of activity in the parking lot in the evening, very poor choices for breakfast
The room was very clean and spacious. The staff were welcoming and always ready to help. The hotel is located close to resturents and attractions.I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the are
Nice clean room with vigihkjiiii
Similar to other reviewers, I selected this hotel based on the 3+ rating. I intended to select the other Wingate by Wyndam Dayton-Fairborn hotel near the Air Force base, and I accidentally picked this one (Dayton North) when booking. The number of 1 and 2 star reviews on this hotel (Dayton North) should have been a clue, had I been paying attention. The lobby smelled like cigarettes, and the hallway outside our room stank like pot. The elevator lurched between floors and gave the impression that it was going to get stuck, and it was filthy. The secondary lock on my room was broken off. The highway noise was quite loud in the room, in spite of it not being a rainy day. One of the beds had footprints on the sheets. The shower was consistently dripping. The parking lot was mostly empty, that was another clue, given that the other hotels in the area had full parking lots. I went to dinner, reconsidered my life choices, booked a hotel in another part of town, and left, without asking for a refund.
The heat was off. There were hairs on the sheets, pillows, and towels. The breakfast was basically nothing. The staff was very rude.
I had a nice stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and quiet. I recommend this place to others if you are traveling to Dayton.
Not sure how Wyndham can put their name on this place. At 1am and you need a place so you can leave again at 7am.. I'd sleep in my car next time.
The adult clerk was on a LOUD speaker phone conversation with her mother at almost 1am and NEVER stopped the call. Just had this blaring mother talking max volume to the Clerk while she just typed away. Finally asking us if we had a confirmation number- and the mother never stopped talking.
Dirtiest room I've been in, bathroom had burned incense sticks still in shampoo holder, dirt around tub, broken toilet seat. Shower curtain almost off wall and hanging down at an angle. The heater was COVERED in filth.
The "breakfast" had 6 biscuits in the container 2 pieces of white bread and an empty room. I started the car, came back in to use the restroom and all but biscuits were gone. I wouldn't have eaten anything from this place.

Bad way to see this condition of a hotel. As a Wyndham diamond member this is sad.
Not sure how this place has 3 stars.
I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The rooms were spotless, the staff was incredibly welcoming, and the service felt very personalized. Every detail—from check-in to check-out—was handled smoothly. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for comfort and quality.
Am a regular weekend guest , they always make me feel welcomed every time I go there . Good customer service and they offer continental breakfast every day that comes including the room price . Good option to stay if your looking for a uncomfortable stay for affordable price
I recently stayed at this property and had a very pleasant experience overall. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The staff was polite, attentive, and always ready to help with any request. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient.
The location was convenient — close to local attractions and easy to access transportation. Breakfast had a good variety, and the quality of food throughout my stay was excellent.
Smelled. Hallway was disgusting with stains and general debris. Floor wet where ceiling was caving in. Just a hot mess!
Breakfast was not as described very few options and not stocked. Rooms and halls were dirty and smelled like cigarettes and weed smoke.
I recently stayed at Wingate by Wyndham and had a generally pleasant experience. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and a great work area—perfect for business travel. The complimentary breakfast had a decent selection, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout my stay. However, some areas could use better maintenance, like stained carpets and slightly outdated furniture. Still, the location was convenient, and overall, it offered good value for the price. I’d recommend it for short business trips or budget-friendly travel with moderate expectations.
The room was not clean. Dog hairs in the window. The bathtub covered with hairs in the drain. The awful breakfast, I spent three days with my partner, and after three days we had breakfast outside the hotel. Lousy service. The women who work at the front desk are always in an attitude and treat the client badly. I paid for a service that I did not receive. It looks more like a hotel for homeless
Location was convenient not expensive hotel staff was very friendly and helpful we like most is breakfast was complementary and has many options. Rooms was clean and comfortable as well
Management refuses refunds despite disgusting, and extremely unsafe conditions!!
Zero stars if I could. DO NOT STAY HERE.
We booked for a soccer tournament (it was an approved hotel) and had to leave early because the conditions were unsafe and disgusting. We arrived very late the night before the tournament so we made our way to the room and felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. The girl who was checking us in had cancelled our reservation and spent most of the time talking with her friend on her cell in another language. This was red flag #1.
Here’s what we experienced during our 1 day here:
• Ants and other bugs crawling around the fridge area, which was sticky and dirty.
• Blood stain on the nightstand and cigarette burns on the bedding.
• Strong smell of marijuana throughout the hallways, exposing kids and families.
• A smoke detector covered with a plastic bag right next to a sprinkler head—a serious fire hazard.
• Broken windows and overall unsafe conditions.
When we reported these issues, the staff handed us an almost-empty can of Raid and refused to issue a refund for the unused night. She said we had to return the next day to speak with the manager, but offered to move us to other rooms. We looked at seven more rooms with the master key card she gave us, and all were equally filthy and unacceptable. Broken windows, filth, and drug use within the facility. We had to leave due to the safety. We returned the next day to speak with the manager Sunny, who was full of excuses, including that marijuana was legal, to which I replied that the premises had signs in the rooms and on doors showing NO SMOKING, along with no marijuana use.
This hotel is unsafe, unsanitary, and completely fails to meet basic standards of cleanliness and safety. For your health, safety, and peace of mind—stay anywhere else. I’ve included photos of the conditions.
Very friendly staff, good location, room is clean. The building is old and shows wear.
We had been on the road all day and getting kinda sleepy, so we stopped here and got a room, The clerk was nice and checked us in with no problem, I asked her what kinda breakfast they had and she said "continental". We went to our room and it was fine with the normal amenities and the bed was comfortable. We got up the next morning and there wasn't any kinda breakfast, not even coffee. The clerk said they fumigating. Sad. Won't stay there again.
Good location for our travels. Poor breakfast. Sour milk (replaced), no bread for toasting. No sausage or bacon (not a fan of biscuits & gravy). Some - but not many- mini donuts & muffins. Cranberry juice was empty.
