Location was ideal -close to many restaurants and shops. The room provided a quiet evening to take in the sunset and mountains
Staff was courteous and informative
Location was perfect to walk to all my favorite downtown spots!
Truthfully, it was great! Maybe the rooms and halls were slightly outdated but that is none of my worries.
Convenient location - nowhere is far in downtown Asheville.
No safe in the room to store valuables.
Decor was tired - needs a refurbishment.
Staff knowledge of location and things to do in the area was poor.
Location and cleanliness
Elevators were extremely slow
Jay in Valet was exceptional.
The bartender on Thursday night was on something.
Clean and friendly
The AC in room 710 was so loud. I didn’t sleep because of this.
Great location; comfortable rooms, everything very clean, great staff
Breakfast wasn’t anything special- could have more bakery options. AC in the room was a little bit loud
Everything except Booking .com has a very bad customer service . Hotel was great but bookin.com do not have a great service
Booking .com has a very bad customer service
The welcome and service was wonderful ! Valet, Reception, Restaurant, all friendly and top tier.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Learning at check-in that I would be charged $75 for any incidental's and that it may take a week to recover if no charges incurred.
Fortunately there is a parking garage adjacent to the hotel so I did not have to suffer the expense of valet parking.
We knew this was an older property and was excited to experience charm, not a very small room, shower that doesn’t work, bathroom barn door that if closed will be opened if someone opens the main door to the room b/c there is hardware sticking out from the main door. We were on the 10th floor and did have a lovely view of downtown with mountains in the background. Check-in had a long line that took a long time b/c this hotel caters to large meeting groups.
We felt as though $25/day for parking was excessive for an open and unprotected lot. We’re Platinum Elite and have never had to pay to park, but they wouldn’t comp this b/c the lot isn’t theirs.
The bright spot was the breakfast buffet ($20pp but complimentary for Platinum Elite and above b/c this hotel doesn’t have a concierge lounge). The food was much better and more tasty than other MB hotel breakfast buffets. The waitstaff were kind and attentive. A lovely and upscale dining experience.
Stayed at The Renaissance hotel for a quick one night stop in Asheville. I was a little hesitant because of some of the reviews, but it was a great stay. The hotel is older, but well maintained and clean. It was close enough to downtown that I felt safe walking alone, and the hotel was still very quiet. Yes, you pay for parking. You are downtown. But, the parking lot was big with plenty of available space. Staff were amazing and friendly. Would definitely stay again if I make it back to the area.
This is a genuine luxury hotel that is getting a little long in the tooth. Staff is helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. Breakfast is excellent buffet with omelet station. Most listings say they have a pool -- but they don't. Parking lot is dark at night.
One block from the main street, easy access to all the activities yet away from all the noise. Large room, comfortable beds.
