Very poor breakfast!!!

Very dirty

It was like a loud fan in the bathroom it sounded like it was in the building noise was coming from the bathroom ceiling it ran all night.

No elevator. Smell of tobacco smoke in hallway. Didn't smell like smoke in the room so no big deal.

The pool area was pathetic/ there were not many extras but it provided for a night stay

The lobby area smelt like weed and cigarettes so bad. The breakfast was all prepackaged food none of the food was cooked like a hotel usually is.

There was NO ELEVATOR TO REACH THE 2ND FLOOR!!

I booked January 28, stayed June 25 and had asked for adjacent rooms. One room was on the 2nd floor, one on the first.

The floor of the bathtub/shower was not safe -- there were bumps, but they were smooth. The walls were slick and when wet, very slippery. There were no hand bars -- desperately needed for such slippery surfaces. The shower curtain doesn't fit (room 107) so water got all over the floor. There were insufficient towels -- I booked the room for 3 adults, and there were supplies for only 2. There was no fan exhaust for the bathroom so the whole room was steamed up and the counters were soaking with water.

We travel through Beckley frequently and we will never stay here again.

A little upkeep was needed. The toilet lid was significantly cracked, likely dropped by someone who tried to stop the toilet from eternal running. I had to remove the chain from under the flap once. In tub, the water wouldn't fully divert to the shower head. A few plastic cups in the bathroom would have been nice, as well as something to put the soap bar in, on the bathroom sink. Air conditioning was set at 61 degrees, so the room was freezing to start with.

I have stayed here for years and saw it Bloom from mediocre to Wonderfu! Clean, bright and Very Friendly staff.

The staff was WONDERFUL!! They went out of their way to make my stay GREAT!! They are all gone and the "Staff" now could not care less about the guests

There is a new owner who cannot communicate effectively in English. He has taken away the ammeneties int the room that made it comfortable. One plastic cup, only ONE!!! The toilet seat was broken and the toilet would not flush. He closed the public restroom so I had to go next door, where I will stay next time, to use the bathroom

It is impossible to have a nice breakfast because he brings his kid here and uses this as a Daycare, Not Nice. The Kids are out of control and we all had to leave.

On a Scale of 1 to 5 this Howard Johnson's now gets a Minus 20

this is so sad because is was like family, and wonderful

This has gone from a 5 Star Property to a -8 Star Property

Please get new owner who ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT HIS CUSTOMERS!!!

The breakfast was terrible and the staff , at best ignored you, or were rude. The bread at breakfast looked stale, the coffee was drinkable and the Frosted Flakes were edible.

Once we finally have found the entrance, the outside was very un impressive. They were cigarette butts all around the front of the door. They were intermittent people coming out to smoke right in the front. It looked like there might be a long stay Group on the second floor. Several times people rolled out through the doors and wheelchairs to smoke and then roll back in. Multiple signs, warning, certain types of people not to come in and that if you were evicted, you couldn’t get your money back and that no locals within 50 miles of the facility were allowed to stay there. There was also a sign on the counter saying that the attendant would be back in five minutes we waited a little over 20 minutes for somebody finally showed up. We were actually afraid in this location. However, we looked at the room. It looks like the room has been painted and it had new carpet. There was a sofa in the room that was filthy and we had to put towels on the sofa, but still didn’t sit on it. If you’re only interested in getting the cheapest room get this one, but we would never stay there again. Note the cleaning ladies were very nice to us.
