Location
Floors in the rooms were not that clean ,dirt was still on the floor. The bathroom needed a new bathtub, and the door needed to be fixed
Bathtub had a big crack on the bottom of the it we had to cover it so we wouldn't cut our feet
The pool was clean and vacant
No ice machine, the room smelt like wet dog, had no shampoo or soap in the shower dispensers and when I called down about it they told me I would have to come to the lobby to get it. No towels at the pool and poor upkeep of the property!
I paid two separate security deposits and received neither of them back. It's been over two weeks and I'm just out $100. Never staying at a 2 star hotel again. There were strange stains all over the bedsheets, I'm hoping it was wine and not blood...
Bed bugs!!!
No ice - machine broken
The pool
The price
The location was easy to find and was close to the Kent State University campus.
I'm not sure where to start. I'm going to start with check in and just walk through from there. Walking in to the lobby is not what is displayed on the website photos. There isn't this large welcoming well lit desk. It was a small, dark, corner desk behind glass. First impression was "omg what kind of crime happens here that they need this bit of added security on a front desk? And why are the lights off?" The gentleman at the front desk was also not pleasant. He kept repeating "no smoking and no pets", which I understand is listed under their rules, but I had given absolutely no indication that I had intended on breaking either of those rules. I'm still not quite sure why he saw fit to berate me on those topics.
Leaving the office I walk past a couple rooms, one of which has a folding chair with drink pockets in the arms of the chair. Both of which had been used as ashtrays. The smell was memorable. I then pulled my car around to where my room was located. I got into my room okay, but upon turning around to lock the door I saw that the door frame has previously been broken. It has never been properly fixed, a nail had been driven through one spot and then the entirety of it was just painted over. It was at this point I called home and asked my other half to come stay the night with me. I did not feel safe. The rest of the property did not look any better. And I was scared to go make a fuss at the front desk.
After a while I got settled in and my husband arrived. We contemplated just picking up and going elsewhere, but as I was in town because of KSU orientation, many of the hotels were already full. So we decided to stick it out and watched some television. Nearly asleep I went to shift one of the pillows only to see that it had been growing some type of mold. Thankfully it was only the one. At this point I'm awake and inspected everything else.
There wasnt much to like. The bed didnt have bed bugs, and the blankets were at least bleached clean. Thats a pretty minimal bar, but it was met.
Room smelled like cigarette smoke. There was a pipe knocking in the wall. There was considerable people noise but that wasnt the motels fault. It did feel less than safe outside at night. Had a wrong side of town vibe. The light entering the room was very dim, I think one of the bulbs was burnt out or on its way out. I did not like the surprise 50$ per room security deposit. That was not advertised.
We were just passing through and wanted a nice room to spend the night
Close to another hotel
I needed smoke free and someone was standing outside the room door smoking and tossing ashes over the railing.
Location
The tenant next door was really loud.
Breakfast could have been better. But they opened the pool for my boys which was great.
I still havent recieved my deposit back
Realmente es un lugar muy limpio lo recomiendo mucho, puedes descansar, por que no hay nada de ruido o por lo menos las veces que hemos ido a sido la misma experiencia.
Clean
It was great
Breakfast was meager. Small muffins, only orange juice .
No one was @ the front desk. I had to knock on the windows, call out, waited awhile. Checking out was same thing. Tried to call, would not go thru. Waited, knocked on windows, called out, paged the staff. Went back to my room to call again. Same thing h as opened. Went back to lobby and someone showed up. All this for a receipt!
Clean, nice location
It was great no complaints
