Thotalagala

Fabulous in-the-clouds location with views to die for. Staff were incredibly friendly, attentive & professional at all times. The team went out of their way to make a memorable Christmas experience which really elevated the stay! Plenty of communal spaces to lounge in.

It was such a treat staying at Thotalagala on an all inclusive basis for 2 nights during our 2 week trip around Sri Lanka. The bungalow is so calm, impeccably decorated and equipped with a great team. We had mixed weather (October) but still did a lot - sun rise viewpoint (Lipton Seat), a tea factory tour, walked through the tea plantations. And when at the bungalow we loved swimming in the pool, admiring the views, playing scrabble and sampling the amazing and daily changing food menu. Kanth took the greatest care of us and we also enjoyed our walks with Madhu. One of my favourite things was the hot water bottle that is placed in your bed while you're eating dinner - heaven.

The view was amazing

Das Personal ist wirklich unglaublich. Sie erfüllen jeden Wunsch - und übertreffen dies sogar! Wir erhielten ein Upgrade für die Sir Thomas Lipton Suite und wurden vom Personal rundum verwöhnt. Die Landschaft und die Aussicht sind grossartig, vom Hotel aus kann man eine Mini Wanderung durch die Teeplantagen machen. Wunderschön!

Wonderful hotel with exceptional service. Manjula was superb and looked after our every need, all the staff were friendly and delivered excellent service. The view from the hotel is exquisite, and there is a wonderful feeling of calm and peacefulness.
The food and drink are of a very high standard with wonderful cocktails. The turn down service with the hot water bottles is a lovely touch. We were enchanted with the local birdlife and entertained by a small group of monkeys outside of our room.
A wonderful stay at a very special hotel and we would highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning property and surroundings! House and rooms are nice and clean but public spaces felt small for the 7 rooms (14 people). It is nice if you are happy to socialize and share space.

Staff was amazing and accommodating - food was good, not amazing - a little hit or miss. We didn’t have the full board / all inclusive like others and I felt like the prices were high for Sri Lanka. Menu was more accommodating to the full board. This is a remote location so plan to be spending most meals at the hotel if you don’t have activities planned.

Incredible views, in incredibly warm welcome, super thoughtful staff (preempting our needs before we even asked), gorgeous interior, super clean yet cozy, loved it!! True 5* service. So many lovely surprises like the hot water bottles in the turn down service. An amazing stop on our honeymoon!

Everything was perfect. The property is very well maintained with a beautiful garden and impeccable rooms. Great views from the terrace and pool. The staf is very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. We would advise having the all inclusive package to get most out of your stay. This was our favorite hotel during our Sri Lanka trip.
