The room was very good, especially the shower. I had a hard time figuring out how to set the desk chair at the right height, however.
It was such a large facility that it was hard to find your way around. A map would have helped locate things in different towers, etc.
Room was very clean and well maintained. It was quiet during the night.
Elevator is a little challenging to operate
Clean and nice staff
Everything was great from the comfort of the room we stayed and the great food we ate at Hanna's.
Absolutely nothing but we didn't win any money gambling. lol
The room was very clean and everyone was nice
Location was fine.....Handy to downtown.
Not able to make tea in room.
Clean, great location, friendly staff and good value
Slight smoke smell, but you get that with all casino hotels
Staff was kind, the restaurants inside are great and it's the first time I have won on video poker in 30 years. Haha
The vending machine didn't give me what I ordered on our floor, but that's not under the control of thw casino. The staff was helpful anyway and gave us a few waters since the machine would only spit out energy drinks.
This is my review of J Resort Reno:
1. Check-in was very smooth. I was happy that they upgraded me to a Suite Room. My original room was a standard king room (probably located at Birch Tower) and they assigned me a Suite Room at Cedar Tower. I was very happy with all my interactions with reception staff. They were helpful and friendly.
2. I have encountered none of the nuicences cited by others: no construction noise (I think this is true overall, there were no substantial construction activity during my stay). No food odor (this may be due to my room being at Cedar Tower) in the hallways and in fact the odor was quite mellow at the buffet. No suspicious characters hanging out the hotel. The hotel surrounding and the parking lot seemed very safe to me. The wifi worked very well. Much better than some other hotels I stayed.
3. Surprisingly, Reno downtown was very safe compared to downtown areas of some other US cities. You see some homeless looking persons here and there, but very few and not threatening at all. You could walk from the hotel to other areas in the downtown without any problems (at least that was the case when I was there).
4. I found Hanna's Table to be quite reasonable, both price-wise and food-wise. I've had two breakfasts and three lunches there and I've tried a variaty of options. I never felt I am payimg more than any other average diner in town.
5. OK. This is common point raised bu other reviewers: there is no daily cleaning. I can confirm that this is indeed the case. Contrary to other reviews this did not bother me. I was travelling alone. If I was with family and kids than I am sure that I would have preferred daily cleaning. In my case, I emptied trash to a trash bag and dumped myself and I asked for extra towels, water and coffee at the reception, which were delivered quickly.
In conclusion, J Resort Reno is a very good choice when staying at Reno. Newly renovated and much reasonably priced than other competitive hotels.
The pool was closed!
The room
Casino seemed a little older than expected, but rooms were very nice, spacious, and clean. Seemed like rooms were brand new.
