Found my go to Berlin place to stay again next time
Pros:

To the excellent standard of an NH, everything clean and comfortable. I did not book a suite, however my request for an upper floor room and bath were accommodated at no extra charge and I was very surprised to be given a suite. I have NH loyalty so I think this was why.

Staff were also very supportive of a mobility scooter hired for me (waiting for a spine operation).

Loved that there was a little minimart in store, arriving back late after a concert and being able to buy a simple wrap and a drink was very welcome. Some items were highly priced however it should be noted that NH do not set the prices, this is a franchised business separate from the hotel or management.

Cons:

The staff were lovely but stretched, this is just one of those things anywhere during summer.

I am stunned that a hotel like this exists in Germany. I chose this NH Hotel based on my positive experience in Copenhagen four years ago, expecting the same standard. However, this hotel feels worn down, and the rooms smell like dust. Furthermore, they failed to disclose their cleaning policy—which states they only clean rooms after a three-night stay—until just days before my arrival, despite my booking months in advance. Such information must be provided at the time of reservation.
To make matters worse, after three nights, I returned to find my room hadn't been cleaned. When I confronted the front desk, they claimed their policy was actually to clean after four nights. When I showed him the email stating three nights, he simply brushed it off as a 'mistake.'
* Finally the hotel gave me free breakfast.

And the quality of the hotel is further reflected in their towels. Since there was no housekeeping, I had to request fresh towels daily. One day, they provided me with a rag-like cloth that looked like it belonged on the floor, claiming they were out of large bath towels and giving me only two small ones instead. I will never stay at this hotel again, nor will I ever book with the NH chain in the future.

독일에 이런 호텔이 있다는 게 놀랍다. NH호텔은 4년 전 코펜하겐에서 편히 묵은 경험이 있어서 믿고 택했다. 그런데 이 체인은 전혀 달랐다. 낡은 느낌의 호텔, 먼지 냄새가 나는 청소 상태. 몇 달 전에 예약했는데 투숙 며칠 전에야 자기 호텔은 3박 후에 방 청소를 해준다고 이메일로 알려왔다. 예약할 때부터 그 사실을 말했어야 했다.

3일을 자고 방청소를 했겠지 하고 외출하고 왔는데 방청소가 되어 있지 않았다. 프론트에서 따졌더니 4일을 자고 난 다음에 청소하는 게 자기 호텔 규정이라고 답을 했다. 그래서 보내온 이메일을 보여줬더니 3일로 적은 걸 실수라고 답했다. 이럴수가!

또 호텔 수준은 타월이 잘 보여주는데, 청소가 없으니 매일 프런트에서 새 타월을 요청했다. 그런데 하루는 발 닦는 받침이나 걸레로나 쓸 것 같은 걸 내준다. 그것도 큰 샤워타월은 없다며 작은 수건만 두 장 주어 받아왔다. 다시는 이 호텔은 물론 NH호텔도 가지 않겠다.

🌭청소에 대해 다시 문제제기를 했더니 황당하게 이제 청소해주겠다고 해서 오늘 나간다고 하면서 보상을 요구했더니 무료 조식을 제공하겠다고 해서 받았다. 청소 이슈를 조식 정도로 덮기는 어렵다고 본다.

I didn’t like they didn’t clean our room the next day. I also tried requesting an invoice to see the charges in my card, as I saw multiple ones in my bank account. However I’m still waiting to receive it after asking

내 방만 그런 거 아니죠?
Pros:

창문이 활짝 열려서 환기시키기 좋았고. 낮엔 햇살이 가득 비쳐드니 기분이 좋았어요. 규정 체크인 시간보다 한 시간 일찍 도착했는데 친절하게 미리 들어가게 해주셔서 긴 기차여행의 피로를 바로 풀 수 있었어요. 조식도 샐러드류가 다양해서 저는 참 좋았어요. 위치도 전철역에서 멀지 않아 늦은 귀가에도 안심이 되었고. 1층의 재즈바가 환상이었어요. 주변에 치킨집도 있고 rewe, dm 다 가까워서 편리해요.

Cons:

들어가자마자 화장실 하수구 악취의 역습이 있었어요. 셔워를 하거나 물을 쓰면 좀 나아지다가 오래 안 쓰면 올라오는 것 같아요. 호텔측에서도 환풍기를 열심히 가동하는 노력이 보여서 견딜만했고, 나중엔 익숙해졌는지 크게 거슬지 않았어요. 청소의 문제라기보단 건물 배관의 구조적 문제인가 싶네요. 물을 비닐 봉지에 담아 배수구를 덮어놔야 하나 고민도 했지만 사흘만에 극복이 됐습니다.
