Good hotel, good location
Pros:

Booked this Novotel as it was relatively close to the Grand Place (3–4 minutes’ walk) and a known brand. We booked an executive room without breakfast, though we did have breakfast on the last morning. Booked for 2 adults and one child.

Room
Nice and clean, perfectly serviceable room. Double bed that was a little hard, but did the job for 3 nights. Fold‑out chair bed for our child, which was not the best and the mattress was thin. Coped okay, but would expect better quality and comfort, so marked down slightly for this.

Separate toilet (which very much reminded me of council estate flat toilets — no criticism, just the style), and a bathroom with shower and bath, with a shower head but no mount to hold the shower head in the bath. Room also had Rituals of Karma products in mounted press‑pump bottles - shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash, and hand & body cream. Nice products, but clearly the industrial Rituals line, as not quite the quality of the standard ones. Conditioner was very thin and needed many, many pumps to cover hair sufficiently.

Carafes in the lobby area to be filled and taken to the room. Machine included room‑temperature water, cold water, and sparkling water.

Paper cups everywhere, which seemed to fly in the face of announcements about sustainability. Reusable glasses and cups would have been better.

Executive Room Amenities
Included dressing gown and slippers for adults only, not the child. Had a mini‑bar, which was restocked and included one bottle each of still water, sparkling water, Coke Zero, and a tropical fizzy drink.

Nespresso machine came with three (original/classic) Nespresso pods that were replaced each day. Kusmi tea bags, sugar, and instant coffee sachets (one each of standard and decaf) provided, but no milk.

Check‑in
Was easy enough, but the room was not ready until 4pm instead of 3pm, which is the advertised check‑in time. Did make use of the locked luggage storage room, but not ideal to wait around in an unstaffed bar for an hour waiting for the room to be ready.

Check‑out
Nice and easy. No complaints.

Breakfast
Had this on one of the days. Was enjoyed. Child was free; €19.50 per adult (did not pre‑book). Buffet style and included:

- Continental meats and cheeses — at least three of each
- Hot breakfast options — sausages, streaky bacon, scrambled eggs, and beans
- Mini pastries — pain au chocolat, chocolate twists, croissants, custard pastry, and others
- Waffles and mini pancakes with toppings including Nutella, Lotus spread, honey, maple syrup, Lotus crumbs
- Variety of fresh baked breads (sometimes steaming they were so fresh), including baguette, fig bread, seeded bread, rye bread
- Bonne Maman jams in large jars with mini ice‑cream‑cone pots to decant them into
- Greek yogurt, mixed fruit (apple, grapes, watermelon, oranges), orange slices, and pineapple
- Apple juice, orange juice, and “detox water” that came out blue (looked like mouthwash but tasted fine) with rosemary, mint, citrus, and presumably spirulina or similar for the colour
- Coffee machines with a variety of options
- Loose Kusmi teas, with bags for filling manually or cups with individual infusers

Bar
Bar area was very nice. Often had sports showing on a projector screen, but no sound, so not too overbearing. Not always staffed, and when it was, they were rather slow. On one night it was borderline chaotic and we were the second of two groups waiting to be served. Beers on tap were Heineken, Affligem, and one other whose name escapes me (along the lines of “L’Augustus”).

Location
Ideal for accessing the central Grand Place (3–4 minutes’ walk). Lots of restaurants and places to eat nearby. A couple of places along the road, but never felt noisy or overcrowded.

Overall
Overall pleasant stay and good location. Would recommend.

Les carafes d'eau à l'arrivée qu'on peut remplir à volonté d'eau plate ou pétillante bien fraîche à stocker dans le frigo de la chambe.
la salle de sport avec fenêtres , serviettes , fontaine, sanitaires et même TV

Petit dejeuner cher quand on ne prend qu'un café et 1 viennoiserie

Happy for my choice.
