I had a great stay at the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making it easy to relax and enjoy my time there. The room was cozy and inviting, and the overall atmosphere of the property was pleasant and welcoming. I would definitely consider staying here again.
One downside of my stay was the jacuzzi. It appeared dirty and discolored, which was unappealing, and it was often crowded with several kids, making it difficult to relax and enjoy the space.
Stopped here for one night to break up the trip from Morgan Hill to Los Angeles. It's a beautiful hotel with a superb restaurant. Thanks to my Marriott status, they upgraded me to a huge suite...which was kind of wasted on me as I was only there for one night and traveling solo. But it's the thought that counts, right? I treated myself to dinner in the restaurant located in the lobby. The food was divine, with a wine list to match. Would definitely stay here again when traveling through the area.
We were out downstairs in the pets room next to the parking and the Halls and room smelled like Lysol the bed was so soft so we had to switch rooms
No free breakfast and see above
The location
The hotel is dirty
They stop caring for it long time ago
Beautiful location, easy to get to and from Solvang.
No complaints
More employees at check in so the wait is not so long. More staff too clean rooms so there is no wait at check in.
Breakfast was expensive, $35 each with tip. The food was very good but it would be difficult for a young family to afford to stay there.
Y
Where to begin? We booked this trip weeks in advance, first for four nights, then revising it to 3 nights due to an early flight home.
We ran into problems flying from the East Coast to LAX before even arriving at our departing airport. Instead of landing in LA at 5:20pm, we were delayed until 11:30pm. The hotel was messaged that our new arrival time would be in the wee hours of the morning, and they acknowledged.
More delays in picking up our rental car meant an even later arrival at the hotel. A freeway closure that we were stuck in for four hours added even more time. When we arrived at the Marriott, it was 7:30am. We explained what happened and that we were checking in late for our reservation the night before (prepaid). We had traveled 27 hours and needed sleep ASAP. The front desk told us our room wasn’t ready yet. After insisting that our room should be open from the night before and to look at their notes, a manager gave us a room, even though there were no notes in their system.
We went to our room, put the “privacy please” on our door and crawled into bed. 45 minutes later, we hear a knock and “housekeeping.” It felt like a fever dream, and we assumed it was for the room next door. It wasn’t. Despite the do not disturb sign, the maid opened our door. It was 9:00am.
The next day, we got a message that check out was available. Even though we had two more nights. We reconfirmed and ignored the message.
The icing on the cake was on our last morning, we went for breakfast and when we came back to pack up and check out, our keys wouldn’t work. The front desk said we checked out at 6:00am. We didn’t. There was a note in their system that said we requested an early checkout. We explained that we shortened our stay by a night, weeks before. That did not translate to a 6:00am checkout the day before.
We made our disappointment known, but the woman at the front desk could only apologize.
On a positive note, we had great service and food at the restaurant on our last night. The staff there was very attentive.
I highly recommend booking the Hampton Inn if you’re traveling to Buellton.
Convenience
The breakfast was awful. In a previous review a patron had said the breakfast was exceptional. I found it very insufficient and certainly not worthy of an up charge. I have had much better free breakfast. No cereal selection, no ,oatmeal, food dishes were empty with people waiting for them to be replenished, no self service on the beverages. Seating arrangement was awkward
The hotel staff said that the use to be downstairs but was moved up for remodeling.. Fine but cease the charges for mediocre
Location was convenient
Staff was nice friendly or knowledgeable
Pool and jacuzzi closed by the county health dept. Filthy, no chlorine in the water, the water is green not blue. Hotel fixtures old, water leaks when it rains, poor maintenance if any. Outdoor furniture is so dirty no one sits in them...
