I stayed at the DoubleTree Charlotte Airport after booking at short notice and appreciated being accommodated with an early check‑in, which was very helpful.
The room was spacious and comfortable, though it felt a little tired and could benefit from some updating. Staff across the hotel were friendly and welcoming, creating a pleasant overall atmosphere. However, the dining experience was underwhelming on both occasions — dinner and breakfast — and didn’t quite match expectations.
The hotel benefits from good transport links, with a short and straightforward shuttle ride to the airport, making it convenient for travellers.
Overall, this is a steady and reliable option for an overnight stay near CLT, particularly for convenience.
This hotel is filthy! No hot water in hotel. The assistant general manager was nasty , rude and unprofessional. The van driver was very rude and unprofessional on 4/5/2026.
Love the cookies! Yummy! Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of the friendly woman at the front desk but enjoyed her good customer service (3/16/26) and Tony the shuttle driver is GREAT! Such a kind and curteous man and a great safe driver.
Very hostile van driver
This DoubleTree is a little rundown with some glaring maintenance issues. The elevator on one side of the building was out of service all 4 days I was there. There was no hot water every morning, which is a big deal. They said they needed to repair a boiler, but again this seemed to take days and not hours to fix. There was one very rude front desk lady… I stopped to ask about breakfast, and as I was walking away, I overheard her telling a coworker that some guests “just don’t listen during check-in” even though this was NOT mentioned to me during check-in. Cookies are still delicious, but the rude lady was upset when I asked for another one. (And she said No.) When I arrived for a quick breakfast at the buffet on Tuesday morning, they had no more scrambled eggs and no more bacon, which made me sad. The room was clean, and the shuttle drivers are exceptionally helpful and friendly. But as a Hilton Diamond member who loves the DoubleTrees, this one is disappointing.
The hotel only has hot water in the evening and it’s the same for the entire team I’m here with. There’s no explanation from anyone on this. Several messages sent have been ignored by the local property. I did send my concerns to Hilton support and they contacted the local property on my behalf. The assistant manager they talked to lied to them and said checked serval of the rooms herself. I have been promised follow up for two days now and have heard nothing from the local staff on any resolution. Fortunately I’m on a business trip and not paying, financially anyway, for this extremely disappointing stay

Needs a bit of renovation
I stayed here having taken a late flight into CLT. Very friendly staff, efficient and regular shuttle to the airport (you phone when you arrive at CLT), large clean rooms and good options for breakfast. Overall, very impressive - well done.
The front desk staff was great...very nice always. The bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was ok overall but had some opportunities. Wake up call was right on time! We always appreciate and love the bottled water and edible treats. It's really a nice touch. Thank you.
The bathroom sink overflow was crammed with paper and nasty stuff. I honestly wished I did not see it but I did and hard to understand how one cleaning the sink did not see it. Totally grossed me out. Other fixtures were clean and presentable. There was some kind of splattered residue on much of the walls, fixtures and dark walls like a cleaning spray?? Did not like the Security person chastising my husband at 6am in the parking lot because he poured out some ice from our small cooler. My husband was tired and not thinking but did not expect that kind of encounter. I suppose if the frig worked and/or was on, the episode could have been avoided. We did not have the opportunity to really use the facilities or enjoy breakfast as we had an early flight. All we really expect and why we choose Hilton properties, is cleanliness--bed and bathroom, property upkeep and friendly people. We rarely, if ever have a bad experience. This visit had some opportunities. We will stay here again on our way back and we're hoping the experience is what we have come to expect when we stay at Hilton properties.
Don’t book this hotel if you want timely airport shuttle service. All the other hotel vans came and went multiple times during the HOUR I waited for this one. (Hotel personnel kept assuring me it was on its way.) Wish I’d just taken an Uber right away. At least the room was clean.
It is a beautiful property. The front desk staff were very helpful. We stayed there the night before our flight home. There is a bar and restaurant that serves meals all day. Apart from our problems, I would recommend a stay there.
When we got to our room, there was some overpowering odor outside of our room door that seemed like an herb smell or plant smell. It got better when we went inside, but there was still some lingering odor. When I was getting ready for bed I was walking in my bare feet and I realized that the carpet was wet! Apparently it had been cleaned, but had not been taken out of service until it dried.
We went to the restaurant for dinner. The bartender was doing his job and seeing to the bar and serving a couple of tables. No one came to our table for some time. Finally we got some water, but sat there waiting for menus. We could hear laughing in the kitchen and staff having fun as we got more frustrated. The evening mgr walked into the restaurant and I waved him over to say we weren’t getting service. After that we got menus, our dinner came out and we were finally able to return to our room. In the morning our waitress was very attentive and got us drinks and food right away. They had many choices for breakfast.
I left a message for the GM and hopefully they can correct the shortcomings quickly.
I was supposed to get 10 percent off my stay because I booked thru Booking.com but it wasn’t applied. I sent a message with the coupon but nothing was applied.
