A beautiful location, very peaceful and quiet.
What’s there not to like. I cannot think of anything.
Very friendly staff. Beautiful room. Excellent food.
The shower in room 19 The Lodge was not brilliant. Needs attention and the water wasn't very warm.
Very enjoyable experience with excellent service, lovely room, beautiful area
Celebrated our wedding anniversary with lunch this afternoon. Absolutely delicious food and polite staff . We have eaten here a few times and never disappointed. Even just popping in for a drink after a walk in the many footpath’s near by .
The Breakfast was very good, well cooked with a good choice.
Breakfast was served until 9.30 am daily. We thought this was too early especially at weekends and should perhaps be served until at least 10 am.
The location and
the grounds are beautiful.
The rooms are warm, spacious and very clean.
The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble.
Breakfast was very good. Didn't have evening meal on this occasion.
Nothing to dislike
Beautiful surroundings, lovely rooms, amazing food.
Great choice of nice breakfasts. Bar staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Being put in the annex rather than the main hotel even though it was very quiet and far from full.
Lovely setting for this delightful hotel. All the staff were friendly and consientius. Gorgeous room with well equipped bathroom.
Have stayed here previously and would definitely stay again when we are in the area.
We could not fault this beautiful hotel from location to the staff. The attention to detail is impressive. The staff were attentive, professional, always took the time to ask about your day (thank you Ethan) The room was spotless. The food was impressive especially the lamb. The Cheesecake hubby had two 😁. Highly recommended a gem in Woodhall Spa.
Nothing.
Great room, staff friendly, food very nice
Whoever was in the room next door to us had no respect for the fact that there were other people staying in the same hotel. Very noisy. Common trash!!
Staff amazing, attentive patient and professional. Sadly the Easter Sunday lunch was largely a disappointment. The asparagus starter was very good according to my husband. The french onion soup ( had by two of us) was not. Purely onions,, little liquid with a large piece of untoasted sliced bread ( with a bit of cheese on top . First and hopefully the last time I ever need to eat soup with a knife and fork. One of our party had roast lamb for main which was so gristly we sent it back, only to have it replaced by an equally bad cut. The vegetables were soggy and very overcooked . Having had good meals at the Dower House before we had been looking forward to the meal especially as we travelled from Manchester!
The location and the staff are excellent. There is a very homely feeling to this hotel which makes you feel very welcome.
We stayed in the Bracken suite. The size of the suite is exceptional, however a lot of updating is required. The seating area could be made much more comfortable if the tv was bigger and the layout effective. The room was clean but needs a bit more attention to detail. A lamp in the seating area for example.
Visited on 21st February in a group of seven for Sunday lunch and all agreed we had an excellent meal prob 9/10. Four decided to return on 29th March , again for Sunday lunch. What a difference and not in a good way. Everything was sort of Ok, beef a bit chewy, veg undercooked, no not al dente just hard , tiny pot of gravy for 2. Asked for and got more gravy. Main concern was the ballotine of chicken which my daughter said did not taste of chicken seemed to be shredded mixture of meat and fat was presented as a formed breast not a stuffed roll as is the classic recipe, I know she should have complained but as like so many people was reluctant to do that. I would imagine this was a “ bough in item” from a wholesaler as I cannot believe any chef would prepare chicken in such a way. The whole meal experience was so different not least the price which had increased by some 15%. Have they had a new chef who needs to increase margin?
Who knows? I think we may have been served the force meat without the chicken!. Such a shame as we live in the village and regularly dine out with visitors but like most people will now be voting with our feet!
