Hotel Hannong

We spent Christmas at the Hannong Hotel & Wine Bar, and it was a truly enjoyable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and well cared for. Special thanks to Susannah and Joanna, who went the extra mile to ensure our family and friends had a memorable Christmas Eve.

The hotel’s warm, festive atmosphere set the perfect tone for our holiday, and we loved the breakfast and tea bar—it really started our days off right. Overall, the Hannong Hotel & Wine Bar exceeded our expectations; thank you for making our Christmas so special!

Wonderful location for easy access from train station and close to most central city sites, as well as tram lines. Amazing friendly reception. Comfortable bedding, great towels and toiletries, but a rather small space, and some late night noise from the street outside, otherwise it would have earned highest marks. The lobby bar was delightful, small plate (tapas) food delicious, bar staff super friendly, decor beautiful. Room price was high but to be expected during Marché Noël high season, and the daily gifts were a nice touch.

Rooms are small but clean. Bed was very squeaky and rooms not soundproof. Could hear an event held in the common area past midnight.

Welcoming and friendly staff, comfortable rooms. New wine bar in the hotel has great options, we enjoyed drinks and charcuterie there. Need more staff during the holiday season though!

And we were given another room, we got to the new room to find its still occupied by other people which was very embarrassing, then we were given third room

Rooms were cleaned and straightened immaculately every day.

My husband and I decided to visit Strasbourg for a couple of days to experience Christmas markets. We booked Hannong hotel and wine bar. Prior to the arrival, we received the email from the hotel inquiring if we need special assistance, any additional services and also they provided an explanation about street closures/parking suggestions. The hotel is located in the center of a town - about 10 min walk from the train station, 10-15-20 min from any of the attractions. The front desk ladies (Amelia and… so sorry, cannot remember now) were amazing - friendly, helpful with restaurants and spa suggestions and booked them for us. In addition, our room got upgraded, we also received a complementary bottle of wine, which was a very nice touch. The room was very clean and cozy (not too big, but ok with European standards), bed and pillows comfy. We had breakfast at the hotel (for 22euro/person) - let me tell you- great selection of the meats, pastries, spreads, yogurt, scrambled eggs, etc. You can make boiled eggs, fresh squeezed apple/orange/carrot juices. Everything was clean, the staff was friendly, refilling food as needed. We didn’t have a chance to visit the wine bar though, but base on our experience with the hotel in general, I’m sure it was great too. Im thinking of what might be a negative thing that I should mention - really nothing, maybe a lady from the room above walking in her heels, lol, but she changed quickly, probably to slippers provided by the hotel.

Awesome location and awesome staff! My wife and I had a blast staying there while visiting the Christmas markets and would definitely stay there again.

Hotel is conveniently located near the Christmas markets and clean. The staff were wonderful and the wine bar was very nice. The servers. in the wine bar are very knowledgeable about wine and good at explaining the wine in detail. Our room was a corner room and the ambient noise both inside and outside the hotel was loud both early morning and late night. If you are a light sleeper you will need earplugs. The in room coffee is instant only (no nepresso or coffee maker). We did not take part in the buffet breakfast but did see it as we went for coffee only. There was an assortment of pastries and charcuterie as well as eggs to hard boil. Overall we enjoyed the hotel and the staff.

Very convenient location for the Christmas markets, Inside the hotel they have a new restaurant, opened only 1 week, called Brio. It was fantastic and the wait staff and manager were top notch. It has a tapas theme with various Chefs contributing their special creations. As for the hotel, all the staff at the hotel were very friendly and courteous. The breakfasts were also excellent. We couldn't have been more pleased.

From the first booking received nice welcome email for the up coming stay! From that point forward things went down quickly. Phoned to get directions and a recomendación of a taxi service! Told to call back then no answer! Called again and was told need to call back by a certain time. Then the cycle repeats! The staff was rude disinterested and irritated to accept us! The hotel was disappointing! Don’t need to go back! Ever!

Conveniently placed, staffed by friendly, knowledgeable staff and serving a deliciously varied breakfast buffet: highly recommended.

We had an excellent stay in Hotel Hannong. Our room was spacious, with great amenities and was spotlessly clean. We were welcomed with a chilled bottle of the local sparkling wine and some snacks. A great start! Although the room faced the side street, we found it quite peaceful. The electrically operated window shutters did a great job of shutting out the light and the street noise. As many have mentioned the hotel has an excellent location, 10 minutes walk from the train station, and close to the city centre, petit france, and the cathedral. There are no shortage of places to eat close to the hotel, although the most popular places do need reservations at peak times. The hotel is family owned and this showed in the decor, which was refreshingly non-corporate. Breakfast was particularly busy on the first morning we were there; the staff seemed a bit stretched with breakfast items running out and slow delivery of teas and coffees. That said, the staff remained friendly and gave excellent service. There was a noticeable improvement on the speed of service on the next two mornings, perhaps suggesting that the management were pro-active. The front reception staff were also friendly and gave great suggestions for local restaurants. Overall, we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

My husband and I stayed here during our recent stay in Strasbourg. We had never been to the city before so I looked at many different hotels and locations within the central cathedral area. I am so glad we chose Hotel Hannong. It is located just 10 mins away from the train station and the cathedral. I was a bit concerned about the location on what appeared to be a busy street but it turned out to be a cute (mostly) pedestrian street and the room was quiet and comfortable. It is close enough to get to everything but far enough away from the main attractions so it is quiet at night and first thing in the morning. The hotel is updated and modern and from the moment you walk in, you can tell they pay attention to every detail. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and provided us with wonderful recommendations for restaurants. The wine bar is being remodeled so it was closed but it would have been a great place to have a drink after a long day of sightseeing. It is a great base for exploring Strasbourg.
