Pros:

It was ok except for my experience the first night with the guy at the counter. Also, he wasn’t out at the desk. I had to walk back there and ask him the question about how to get out and he said no you can’t be back here don’t ever come back here again, so it was really rude to me.

Cons:

The gentleman there are my first night. He had a beard not full face just the lower part of his face. I ask him how to get out and and he asked me if I was staying there and I said yes then he said the same way I got in if I remember that I wouldn’t have asked him

It was enjoyable.
Pros:

The breakfast was very good. We ordered room service for supper and breakfast. Both meals were of good quality. We felt it was as good as if we were in the restaurant.

Cons:

the only thing that was concerning was that we went to take our belongings to our car before checking out. We needed to get our coats and other items from the car for us to go to outside to the music hall for the afternoon. When we returned to the elevator and attempted to use our card to return to the room it didn't work. We rode the elevator as others called for it... to the 10th floor. our room was on the 19th floor. We used the stairs to return to the room..... it was funny but also tiring!

Great location, overpriced and terrible food.
Pros:

Crowne Plaza Hotel downtown KC

3/1/2026

My review:

Check in: staff was friendly and helpful. They explained parking and breakfast. Parking is in the hotel with the entrance on the west side. So at least you’re not parking in a public garage/shared garage.

Overall first impression: elevators and hallways were heavily worn. Lobby bathrooms were smelly and not very clean. The hotel is very busy on nights with events at the convention center (next door).

Room: showed little signs of wear. It’s looks like they updated it not too long ago. Bedding was clean. Mattress and pillows were very nice and comfortable. AC unit was very noisey when it kicked on. Windows did little to dampen street noises, so ear plugs were a must!!!Shower had numerous but mild mildew/mold build up. Shower water pressure was above average. Shower gel, conditioner and lotion is provided.

Restaurant: breakfast was awful. Waitress only pointed to buffet and walked away. Took forever to get drinks. Food was terrible. Water in the scrambled eggs, bacon was greasy and floppy, waffles were stale, pineapple had core in a lot of the bites, gravy for biscuits was bland and biscuits were hard as a rock. We ate a couple bites and were done. Upon leaving the restaurant I overheard someone order a custom breakfast. I'm upset that a made-to-order breakfast or menu wasn't even offered to us. That was a waste of $75 for 3 of us.

Garage: was decent but very tight. I have no idea how anyone drives a full size SUV in there! Most garages in KC are that way tho with idiots parking their behemoth vehicles taking up 2 spaces or making it impossible for others to get around them, so don’t be one of those inconsiderate people.

Location: great location to the Convention Center! Loved being able to walk there. Convention Center is literally next door to the west. During our visit there were 3 major events happening at the same Convention Center: Dance competition, lawn and garden show and Hamilton the play. So many people! If you don’t like crowds, avoid it.

Final thoughts: I won't return to this hotel. Not worth the money we spent. Yes it was convenient being next to our event but you can get the same quality hotel for half the price and have better hotel food and surrounding restaurants for the money.
