Courtyard by Marriott San Antonio Downtown/Market Square

The entry to the properties was tricky as there are road work right out front of the main entrance. The front desk staff are friendly, the times I interacted with them. THe bar was interesting, we came down to check out the food situation, there were people waiting fo the bartender, and usually properties like this there's tons of folks belly up esp there's a bowl game nearby which drawn in alot of visitors. But the front desk person helped get our order. The food was cooked quickly, and the margarita pizza was decent. The bar does have a few kinds of liquor, wine, and beer but none on tap. Similiarly, in the morning where the coffee bar closes pretty earlier, we got there around 9-ish and she was closing up. Luckily we just needed black coffee, nothing fancy and was able to fuel up.

The property is not new and it shows. But the staff makes up for it, everyone from front desk to housekeeping were friendly and kind. Made the stay good.

I recently attempted a stay here after a 14 hr drive, and unfortunately had to leave due to dirty rooms. The first room was extremely dusty and had slimy brown residue in the shower drain. The second room was also extremely dusty, and the third room on the opposite side of the property had a running toilet with yellow stains and mold. The property is not well maintained. Seems to be an older property. Ceiling tiles were stained, carpets worn, and the overall appearance seemed the property could use some easy updates.

The nightly rate was far too high for the condition of the hotel, and the additional $20 charge for parking is not worth it.

I do appreciate the front staff's efforts with changing rooms, but I hope management takes a closer look at the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas.

Likes: Staff very nice. Secure gate pass parking. Very clean. Very quiet. Fitness, pool & laundry, secured 😃

Dislikes: $40 incedental charge, not mentioned prior to booking. Custom breakfast items may be extra. Lots of construction, currently in the area, slightly confusing. 🤔 Definitely do recommend!

Other than the road construction that has been going on around there for the last few years, the hotel is nice, clean comfortable. Market Square is within walking distance. Parking is now $16 a day which at one time was free. The staff is pretty helpful too.

Front desk service was super nice

The bathroom was very dirty – there was hair in the bathtub and on the floor, and the area around the toilet was unclean. I even noticed blood stains on the carpet. During our stay, the housekeeping staff forgot to clean our room, so when we returned late at night, we had to go to the front desk to request basic toiletries and fresh towels. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

The space in the rooms was great !!

The hostess double charged me on a bill, and she was very rude and arrogant. The cleaning lady and Karla from breakfst were great!
