The location was nice - close to the airport. The food in both the burger and indian restuarants was really good.
The room was overpriced for small outdated bathroom that not only lacked proper lighting, but the shower and sink both only ran scolding hot water. I called to request a repair and they sent someone up promptly but after 2 hours of waiting, they still didn't fix the problem. The only way to shower was to let the water flow for 30 minutes prior so you didn't burn yourself. This was very inconvenient and the most disappointing thing is that they didn't even offer us a free meal or discounted rate given the level of inconvenience. Also, the pool is only open from 4-8 pm everyday which is absolutely insane and something I've never contended with at a hotel that costs over $400/night.
Hotel is beautiful and clean. Service is fine. Location is lovely. Let's talk about the hotel pool. For the summer, this hotel thought it would make the most sense to have pool/hot tub/outdoor terrace open at 4PM on the weekdays. Who is that for? Definitely NOT for families traveling with young children. Definitely NOT for any adult looking to get in some morning laps. I was told the reason they have those hours is because Fairfax County requires them now (new for 2026) to have a life guard on duty. Bare in mind, the deepest their pool goes is 3.5ft.. Now, I understand that a child or an adult can certainly drown in 3.5ft. of water but what happened to "swim at your own risk" or "adult/parental supervision required". You can't just stumble upon this pool and fall in. You have to use your room key to access the fitness center, walk past a receptionist, then use your room key again to access the pool deck.
When we did finally get to the pool for the one and only time during our 4 night stay, we were met by a young lady with broken English who was the lifeguard. She immediately told us no jumping, no food, and no drinks at the pool. My two kiddos are rule followers so they were instantly turned off by the vibe. We stayed for maybe 30 minutes.
There is not much else to do in Reston town center besides eat at some great restaurants, walk the relatively flat sidewalks, and shop. My kids really like the pool and hot tub at the Hyatt Regency Reston and mommy likes to sun bathe on the outdoor terrace. We didn't get to do any of that during our stay in mid July due to the ridiculous hours. We will probably not return next year.
The location and views made our stay fantastic. We were located within walking distance of several great places for dining or drinks.
An excellent comfortable hotel within easy walking distance of the metro and many dinning and shopping options. Also easy access to walking/biking trails. Reston Town Center is a great location. The hotel and its staff are terrific. We stay there for many company meetings and they never disappoint.
Great experience and very accommodating staff.
The surrounding restaurants and night life were awesome! Will definitely return.
Everyone was very friendly and nice. They were very nice and accommodating with any request that you may have. The place was clean.
Our hotel room was clean, however, when you turn the faucet on in the bathroom, it smelled like sewage. So not sure if the sink needed cleaning under the faucet or if there was an issue going on with the water. The shower did not smell like it. Only the sink in the bathroom, which we did not use to brush our teeth as we were not sure as to why it had that smell. Also, it kept sounding like water was trickling down the wall every so often. Alarming us to jump up, thinking a water leak was in the room. It was not a leak in there. However, just alarming to hear water sounding as if it is running down the walls. Other than that, everything was great. We would definitely stay again.
Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Reston was fantastic. The location of the hotel and amenities were good. What stood out the most was the staff!
This visit at the Hyatt Regency Reston was enjoyable, especially because of the renovations to the property. The renovations to the town center suite were very nice As well as the renovations to the Regency club. An Indian restaurant has finally opened on the lobby floor, which is a nice addition.
The rooms do not have exhaust fans. The air was swampy and the AC did not function properly. It smelled awful in the room. The pillows were old and compacted and we could have used more because they were so thin.
Location
Bed mattress and low toilet
This hotel isn't a great location surrounded by food and shopping and it felt very safe. The rooms were comfortable clean the hotel was clean.
Rooms were very clean and spacious. Location is perfect. So close to shops and other restaurants. The only small negative was the fact that their pillows were flat and they need a bathroom fan.
Clean
It had a water leak
It’s an expensive property very clearly aimed at business travels, corporate meetings, conventions - all of which are major revenue generators. So “regular” people visiting the area are not a priority. And $18 per night for self parking is very clearly excessive.
