Family weekend trip
Pros:

Rooms were large and nice. I liked all the seating in the lobby with a view of the river. Location great. Walked right on the riverwalk. Seating in the hallway on our floor was great to meet up with family in other rooms. valet service was friendly and prompt. Breakfast staff replenished food all morning. Front desk staff is friendly.

Cons:

Valet service is expensive. Evening reception only one day in middle of the week. Waffles only on weekends. No bacon. No biscuits and gravy. Didn't care for the sausage. Tortillas not warmed.

Pros:

Awful, I would not recommend anyone to stay there.

Cons:

Everything was bad, room was dated. Elevator did not work, all appliances were old. Mattress was very uncomfortable, blood stains in carpet. They need to close this location down.

A Strange Stay!
Pros:

As a Hilton Honors Diamond member—and an Honors member since 2002—I understand what to expect from different Hilton properties. That said, my expectations have generally been shaped by non-downtown hotels, and downtown properties operate very differently. Charges for parking, early check-in, and late checkout are not what I am used to as a Diamond member, but I also recognize that a Riverwalk location in downtown San Antonio is a premium setting. For me, the most important measure of any hotel is the attitude and professionalism of the people who work there, and this hotel truly stood out in that regard. When we experienced unexpected issues with our room, the manager on duty, Jorge, went above and beyond to take care of us. He responded quickly, showed genuine concern, and made every effort to make things right despite circumstances that appeared to be beyond anyone’s control. Without Jorge’s attitude and willingness to help, my review would likely be very different. The rooms were nice, the location on the Riverwalk is excellent, and the staff ultimately saved my impression of the hotel. This may not be a budget stay, but the people made it feel worthwhile.

Very big beautiful room.
Pros:

The room was huge, very clean & the beds were comfortable.

Cons:

The TVs were not smart TVs…no streaming. Also, the hotel was hot, they notified us they were having ac worked on at check in. Our room was 76 degrees at check in & o my got down to 70 degrees. In Texas, that’s a huge part of comfort. Next morning at checkout, it was super hot in hallways, elevator, lobby. We had to wait 20 minutes for our car to be brought down & I was soaked in sweat.
My husband also saw a bug (looked like a roach) crawl down into the dishwasher.
Access to Riverwalk was there but nothing close by.

The hotel is quite old and in need of renovation, although the location is very good. The breakfast is poor. The pool is neglected and dirty, and the sun loungers by the pool are broken. Overall, we were not very happy with the hotel.
