I like to meet new people and learn from all my experience's! And also explore new location's especially Marriott! I was greatfull, for the bartender! Her name was Cristal, she really had a great personality! She always's made conversation and kept me laughing, it was a great time! I was also there for business! But I was glad I had time to relax and talk to someone, who was nice, and also funny! Thank you!
it's a good place to base yourself out-of-town NYC but still well-positioned to get into the city, especially with a bus stop going straight to the Port Authority Terminal. The rooms are good - large and well presented. The staff are great!
Major building work was underway in the Reception area - which was noisy and reduced the available facilities e.g. the Bistro considerably. We were informed that there would be work underway - but only the day before our arrival - presumably just so as we could not say we hadn't been informed, but after the cut-off date for us not cancelling. On the first evening we were charged $25 for 2 v small beers - no glasses, nowhere to sit inside, only one staff member, with no idea as to how we could even pay. We resolved to not buy any more drinks, breakfasts, thereafter - so the hotel did miss out on a lot of potential revenue from us, as a result...
I want to start off by saying that every person we met working at the hotel was very kind.
Unfortunately, that is the only positive thing I can say about this hotel. Prior to arriving we did receive an email that the computer system was being updated, but no information that the hotel would be under construction. The fitness center, advertised on the website, was closed. They did give us access to the fitness center at a sister hotel "next door" which required crossing a busy highway to access.
We were there for three nights on Memorial Day weekend, and each day was worst than the last. The hotel was a construction zone with most of the lobby blocked off and 1 working elevator. We were traveling with a guest with a disability, and 1 of the 4 handicap spaces was unusable due to construction materials stored in it, clearly an ADA violation. We were awoken at 5am to the sounds of construction vehicles and their back-up alarm. We planned staying until the check-out time on our last day, but after receiving an email that water would be shut off for an undisclosed period of time at 10am we left early.
The fact that this hotel stay was approximately $200 per night in this condition makes me loose all trust in the Marriott brand.
The breakfast was very good and our server was excellent.
usually there are two bottles of water supplied by a hotel for the coffee machine. However there was none in our room. Luckily we brought a few bottles with us.
I’ve stayed here before and this time I was disappointed
To start with just a few few days before my reservation, I was notified that there is ongoing maintenance/upgrades to the hotel
I had booked through Marriott Bonvoy, which meant I paid in advance and if I cancelled, I would lose my money
I also realised too late that they had dropped the rate and I could not do anything about the lower rate because I learned less than 24 hours before my reservation
Upon arrival, I was dismayed as a disabled veteran to learn that they were storing debris in one of the handicap parking spaces. I called it to the attention of the desk clerk whose attitude was that’s the way it is.
Although I did get a newly remodel room which was fine the only thing to note was that they didn’t have any glasses or plastic glasses in the bathroom they did supply two coffee cardboard cups
On checking out, I again called it to the attention of the clerk about the handicap parking and her attitude was nonchalant
I wanted to make comments on the Marriott Bonvoy site, but believe it or not every time I tried to put in the name of the hotel it wouldn’t accept it so I couldn’t make the comments
So if you’re planning on going there, just remember that Constuction going on and parking can be difficult
Really good location. Attentive staff.
We were charged more than what our booking gave us. We paid over $300 more.
