I will start by noting that the person who checked us in was great. Very friendly and prompt. We have reasonable expectations for a hotel of this grade and hotels in this class can vary. That being said, this hotel was functional. It wasn't dirty but didn't feel particularly clean. The TV in the room was the size of a large computer monitor. It felt tired and depressing. There are better Marriott properties out there.
Great people working the desk. Breakfast was very sparse, especially considering the cost of the room.
As a Lifetime Titanium Bonvoy member, I have been in many different types of Marriott properties all over the world. Generally, I find the properties to be well maintained. Not this one. Here is my take on the Fairfield on Commerce Center Drive north of the city.
Pros:
It is inexpensive
Staff seemed to be pleasant enough
Cons:
Poorly maintained
Houskeeping is very infrequent. We had one full service in 7 days.
No hot breakfast offered due to "circumstances beyond our control". For a week.
Bed is very thin and squeaks when you roll over.
The room has a musty smell like damp laundry.
Overall: If you are looking for a place to crash on the cheap, this may work for you. If you are expecting a standard Marriott Fairfield experience, you may wish to look elsewhere.
The breakfast was very disappointing. Apparently, the refrigerator was out, but we should have been made aware so we could have been prepared. The area needs updating. Broken chairs, stained carpet.
All of whatci mentioned above.
My experience was horrible. None of the outlets worked the ac fan, barely blue. The refrigerator was warm. after the first night, I requested to cancel they would not allow me to cancel without charging me a full night fee. I asked for a blanket. They gave me a sheet and said this is the best I can do the noise from the traffic outside was ridiculous. Kept me up all night. there was not even lotion for Christ sakes. they charged me a parking fee.
Great stay! The location of Fairfield Inn Colorado Springs is perfect—close to restaurants, shopping, and amazing mountain views. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained. Breakfast was fresh, with good options for both kids and adults. Highly recommended!
Staff was friendly. Hotel needs some upgrades including getting rid of that carpet on the 1st floor. Parking was good. Care package upon arrival was a nice touch. Bathroom was in good condition.
nothing was special about the property. Based on the fact google had a good review i excepted that which will never happen again. Homeless people were hanging around the parking lot. I never ate the food down stairs cause it looked gross. I should have known what the property was like when i step into the elevator and it was dirty. In our bath room the tile was broken and the grout was missing. Base on what this property. Ill never stay at another Fairfield Inn.
A beautiful room, clean, helpful and polite staff.
WISHED I DIDN'T STAY HERE!!
1. Hidden Parking Fee -- not listed in the confirmation's summary of charges that I printed when I made my online reservation on the Marriott website. General Manager "Adrian" refused to reverse this unexpected hidden charge when I discussed it with him and showed him my printed confirmation.
2. HVAC -- AC did not work. I turned setting down from originally set "68 degrees, cool, auto" to "66 degrees, cool, high fan" and left several hours for a meeting. Returned to room still warm, stuffy, stale.
3. Smell -- room had a stale, funky, offensive odor
4. Burned out bulb -- lamp by bed had a burned out lightbulb. Fortunately I did not need to use the desk and was able to swap it with the desk lamp's lightbulb.
5. Breakfast -- mediocre at best. Poor selection. Poor quality. Don't waste your time, just eat out.
2 positives:
room was clean
guy at the check-in desk in the evening was pleasant and helpful
Unless you really need this exact location, DO NOT STAY HERE! There are many other nice, reputable hotels and Airbnb's in Colorado Springs to choose from!
Note that this is not a Marriott corporate property. It is "operated under a license agreement" by Aimbridge.
Our room was nice but not well insulated for sound and was right across from the elevator. The elevator worked about 40% of the time we went to use it. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast spread was nice.
We did not stay here and canceled the reservation on 8/15 because of confusion on which Fairfield we were staying. I was told we would be charged a cancellation for one night, but I have not received credit for the other two nights, which were prepaid. Neither Fairfield or Hotels.com have given us any good customer service. Very displeased.
Pretty standard updated Fairfield, though the elevator was out of service both days I stayed there. The breakfast was also your basic free hotel breakfast. Friendly front desk staff and the location was very close to many restaurants and shops with easy access to the highway.
The property over all was okay. The bed was lumpy . I cannot believe they have the nerve to charge for parking. Are you kidding me! And then on top of that a sign is posted that says if your car is broken into they are not responsible. Okay fine but then you should not charge to park in the parking lot. It seems so greedy.
Management was very rude. As I was waiting to checkin, another guest was informed that they were out of coffee. No in-room coffee service. Three other customers were in the very small, dirty lobby talking about diarrhea, laughing and carrying on in very loud voices. Not only is the hotel, if it can be call that, located in a parking lot behind a car wash, it is so far from the road, no one can see it! Probably their plan since it’s such a mess. No one driving by would ever consider staying here. The place is a dump. Do not waste a dime on this place. Simple awful.
We stayed at this hotel as a part of our big road trip for the summer. The hotel was clean and well taken care of. Timothy, at the front desk, was very courteous, professional, and very nice.
Close to Relative in the area.
