Super 8 by Wyndham Mahwah

Room needs painted and new flooring. It was clean though. Clean sheets and the bathroom veas clean. I saw 2 bugs the first night in my room.

Leaving a compliment for Chris/front desk. A huge mistake was made when I reserved my room. Chris apologized for the mistake, and made it right on the spot. After a mistake is when 'making it right' is tested. Chris met the challenge big time hence my thanks to him. Please make him aware of my comments and note his HR file. He's renewed my positive opinion after the snafu.

I wanted to compliment two front of house staff at Super 8 in Mahwah, NJ. Alexis assisted with my booking. He was patient, knowledgeable and even signed me up to a membership to get any rewards on offer now and in future. The other staff member was Dedrick who checked me in. He was equally as helpful. With great staff like that I plan on checking Super 8 if in need of a hotel. Rooms are a dime a dozen, great staff are like rare diamonds. Please note their HR file and pls make them aware of my thanks. Keep up the great work in a very challenging business environment.

Bluntly, I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Arriving in the evening, the smell in the hallway ( with very outdated, filthy looking carpet) was of cigarettes and pot. We arrived at our room, and the furnishings were out of date, the carpet had a huge bleach stain ( something on it must have been pretty awful), the bathroom mirror was shattered in two places, and it just smelled dirty. No thank you. We did NOT stay. Sadly, our reservation was prepaid through a third party, so that money was just flushed away. Never again will we book at a “ Super” 8; Wyndham should not be associated with this chain! HORRIBLE.

This Super 8 location has wonderful architecture and helpful staff. I will always look forward to staying. I hope and pray the Manager reads this.

Room was alright, bathroom door wouldn’t close do to broken hinge. Also cockroach in shower. But besides that it was good.

Bed a lil to hard for my liking but it did the job

A room was on the third floor and when we got off the elevator an employee was surprised to see us and asked if we were sure, we were in the correct place. It is not smoking hotel, but our room smelled like stale smoke. There was bleach stains on the floor and an old dirty towel was left hanging on the ironing board of our room. The AC obviously brought in air from the outside. It did not filter for the fact that people were smoking cigarettes outside our room, which brought the stench into the room.
The beds were clean and the bathroom was cleaned to our satisfaction that we still felt comfortable staying..

Easy check-in and the rooms were clean. The furniture and carpet felt worn but for a drop in this was dine. The price was about as inexpensive as you will find so it all worked out. I was out early so I did not try the coffee and breakfast.

There are roaches, loud noises at all hours, and the toilet seats aren’t even attached to the toilets.
