Everything about our room.! Except our room was very stuffy as the air con wasn't on and
we couldn't put our air con.on.Rang reception.Maintenance guy was there straight away.Remote just needed a new battery. He was very pleasant.
The staff were too serious when we checked in and out!!
I loved staying in a piece of history
Elevator was a bit scary, we got stuck in it once luckily only for a short while
Classic older hotel. Large rooms. Helpful staff.
Not having separate shower. Climbing in the bath was not good. Hot water in shower weak and not consistent.
However, as it is an old hotel I did expect some issues.
Classy hotel in an excellent location. Room was superb with plenty of space, a very comfortable bed combined with excellent facilities. The Cricketers bar had a great cocktail special.
Nothing

The shower over the bath
Location was good and provided easy access to the city. Exterior of the building is impressive and grand
Very dated interior. Drab colours old carpets. Not super clean. Staff poorly trained and barely spoke english. Lifts were out of order for the entirety of our stay. Restaurant, bar and other common areas dreary.
The location is excellent, can’t be beaten in the Paris end of Melbourne. The history is wonderful.
The hotel is comfortable, clean but very soft furnishing frayed and dirty. The room air conditioner pumped out hot air and the power sockets are loose and not USB friendly.
We loved this hotel! We were so impressed from the moment we stepped inside and saw how beautifully it was decorated for Christmas . We loved the old fashioned charm and stunning staircase. The a la carte breakfast was included and was delicious and the service and food were impeccable. The Cricketers Arms was part of the hotel and we enjoyed the vibe in there.
Nothing
This hotel is suffered from long overdue maintenance, deferred maintenance, dirty, filthy carpets, walls, elevators.
Ancient, broken, damaged furniture, etc.
Simply carpet cleaning, daily cleaning of elevators, furniture and all seems too much.
A little granola with a slice of toast and jam in the morning? That’s 2 meals sir, you have to pay extra. No jam, no butter, nu fruits.
The room AC is a knob to control fan speed, not the tempo. There is a constant humming in the room, even when the AC is off.
2 elevators for many rooms on 3 floors and 1 has been broken for days. The TV is 17 years old, no streaming.
All and all, if this was a budget hotel than there was still no excuse for not cleaning the facilities!
Great location to theatre.
It’s very outdated. I know it’s old but probably due for a little face lift
Old world charm and located close to everything. Quiet at night. Good breakfast available. Room was comfortable and a big bathroom. Air conditioning coped with 45 degree days. Easy walk to the Australian Open tennis.
Could do with some maintenance attention. Carpet in lifts and bar needs replacing or a serious clean. Did not have a coffee or tea cafe. Lots of people at cafe across the road so there is scope there.
The place is beautiful, the room i picked was beautiful, and looked even better in person, the staff were lovely and i was given a gift for staying on my wedding weekend, they let us take some photos in the hotel, even though we didnt book our wedding there. Very central and easy access to trains and the city.
I had to pay an extra $50 once i got to the property. It might have been in the fineprint and i didn't read it lol. Was okay, is what it is kind of thing
