Beautiful heritage style building in great location areas require improvement, soundproofing heating

Location, architecture of the building, period furnishings. Staff friendly.

Cons:

Excessive noise from guests upstairs due to poor room sound proofing especially floor ceilings. Able to hear upstairs TV. Large communal areas of hotel totally unheated, very cold, therefore unable to enjoy the use of any of these.

Breakfast eggs were cold and served juice in a chipped glass but staff rectified situation.
I put in a complaint about women wearing maid outfits - there wasn't a good vibe from cleaning staff they had their heads down and scuttled away when they saw you - I think it's outrageous. Women should be wearing maid costumes - a blatant symbol of lower class servitude and completely objectified them. It was same for men and their outfits too. Appalling I would never go back until this was changed.
