Embassy Suites by Hilton Detroit - Livonia/Novi

I was discussed with the wall in the bathroom. It had hair on the wall, then when I went to check the bed there was hair in the sheets also. I do cleaning and I know it can be difficult to make sure you have everything clean but that cannot be overlooked. The where the sugar and coffee packs are kept there was sugar dumped in the black dishes.

The amenities were GROSS

The strict policies should have been on the booking site. My family came to hang out with us and we had to book another room just so the kids could all swim.

A lot has changed, my family was given bright red wrist bands for breakfast and pool.
No one else at the hotel were wearing these bands. These wrist bands were given one time and expected to stay on the whole duration of the stay for all, even my twins. More thought could have been given to this, because it’s hard to get children to keep on their shoes, much less a wet itchy worn wrist band.
After working all night, I return, fix my breakfast and get ready to head up to my room for a shower before I eat, and a big no it was. Can’t take your breakfast to your room. Forcing you to eat your meal right then and there. You must eat in the brisk sitting area and eat with everyone else despite working a 12 hour shift. Totally robbed of comfort and privacy. This should be reconsidered, if you do room service then food can go to the room, if you order out , then food can go to the room, if you bring food , then it can go to the room, but you bet not want to take your Luke warm waffle to your room. There is now a person to scan the guest, asking some for their room number and some simply gets a “good morning “. For 600$ for two nights, it used to be better. Now it’s like visiting a 1 star hotel. The pool is extremely extremely extremely un enjoyable due to the water being so salty, the first drop of water from it is guaranteed to singe your eyeballs out.
Ditch the wrist bands unless everyone is going to wear them so certain people don’t feel awkward or singled out.

There was no mattress on the pullout. There was water damage in the bathroom from the door that created door debris every time you moved the door. There was wet spots on the carpet all over the hotel that did not go away for our entire three day stay, also there were. I blankets or sheets for the pull out sofa that didn’t have a mattress. Had to wait 24 hours to get a blanket. All 4 of us slept on 1 bed due to no mattress and no blanket. Finally the bathroom doors in the severely rundown pool area do not work. Will not ever stay ever again.

There was a big fight in and outside the facility. Instead of the police being called first your security guards entertained the nonsense untill he had to call police because now their lives were in danger, this activity lasted for for over 2 hrs. My room was in the front woke me and my kids out our sleep when I came strictly for relaxing. Next morning call to the front for extension and of course couldn’t happened, no apologies or anything. Oh yeah it took them over 30 minutes to check me in😐, if I was traveling I would have been pissed beyond measures. I’m a former Hilton employee this was a real bad look for that location!

There seems to be issues with cleanliness , some parts off the hotel seem a buy worse for wear (like the elevators having discoloration, lamps in bedrooms having stains)

$25 "early" check-in fee (even for 1 hour); pool was shut down due to "vomit", but seems that shutting it down is a regular thing; currently under renovations (8/2/26); people running through the halls screaming and knocking on doors; bed was extremely lumpy.
