Had a great stay, the staff is very friendly. The room was nice and comfy with a very clean environment and awesome history. We will definitely be returning. We never visit Portland hotels due to living in the area, but we will definitely be doing it again soon!

We loved it, old world luxury but with modern amenities and laid back vibe, not stuffy. incredibly friendly staff. Walked in to live jazz in the historic lobby, enjoyed a beautiful spacious room (720), and absolutely loved our breakfast in The Palm Court- our server Bobby has met all the celebrities and VIPs who have stayed over his 40+ years with Benson. Even the historic stairwell showcasing photos of the history Portland and the hotel was cool.
We just loved our stay.

The location is great. The atmosphere was awesome after we were told the ghost stories. Our room was very spaciously, clean, keeping the historic value in the room and through out the building. Very quiet during the night, top notch serve! Tara and John make it hard to leave the bar and are the best host ever!

Although this is not a five star hotel, it certainly seems like one. The tastefully renovated rooms are generous and have very high ceilings. I recommend the King Corner rooms bc they include a couch for visitors to sit on by the window. The front desk staff is lovely and really put themselves out for us. The restaurant is small but has delicious food. It serves a great breakfast and serves dinner too. The lobby is gorgeous w wood paneling, chandeliers and a fireplace. Will definitely stay here again!

Clean and comfortable - delicious restaurant on site

Our stay was short, but so wonderful! The location is great. Walkable to everywhere we needed to go, including our show at the beautiful Crystal Ballroom. I was shocked at how fancy the atmosphere was, considering that this was the cheapest option we looked at. Excellent value! We especially loved the super deep bathtubs. I would’ve liked a kitchenette, but the mini fridge was sufficient for our short visit. We got two rooms, which were initially booked several floors apart, but the wonderful front desk admin, Amanda Lemon, was able to arrange for us to right across the hall from each other. Amanda really was the best part of our stay. She went above and beyond to make our experience as pleasant as it could’ve possibly been, and we were delighted every time we got to cross her path! We would absolutely love to stay here again next time we are in the area.

My experience at the Benson was amazing from the start!! We checked in and were helped by the wonderful Amanda L and she took the best care of us. The complimentary robes made bath time exquisite, valet was quick and friendly, and atmosphere absolutely stunning. But I seriously wouldn’t be leaving this review if it wasn’t for the amazing service we received from Amanda. Thank you so so much for making our stay amazing!

The service at every level of this hotel was impeccable! Every employee was totally accommodating. Gessca and Katie at the front dest were above and beyond anything you would expect. I will definitely return for my next stay in Portland.

We had a great time during our stay. All staff were responsive and delivered outstanding customer service. Bobby in the restaurant is a great example. Friendly, quick and had plenty of insights on the area if people needed it. I heard others doing the same for other customers. Can't wait to return.

Cherice, Tara, John and Rich were wonderful. They have over 100 years of combined experience and it is obvious they love their job and valuing their customers. True pros!
