I had a hot water issue in my room but they were quick to resolve and upgraded my room which was above and beyond.
Great location and comfortable room. The check-in/check-out process was smooth. The concierge did let us know about the rooftop bar reservation requirement and did make the reservation for us.
Wasn't really impressed that much with the rooftop bar setup. Reservations required ahead of time, sitting spots only, maximum one hour stay. When the bar is no operational, the area is not accessible to hotel guests. That said, the view was OK and drinks were good.

The Hotel is great, walking distance of the Duomo, but yet again, most hotels in Florence are close to everything. The rooms are huge, and gorgeous, we couldn't spend much time due to traveling, but it's a great place.
The rooftop so advertised in the pictures is not very big and it was completely crowded, we couldn't find a table or even a corner to enjoy it, so we couldn't really take advantage of the hottest feature of the hotel. Maybe low season is more enjoyable.

Hotel Cavour is in a perfect location if you plan to walk to many of the city's main tourist spots. Everything is a short walk, yet the hotel's entrance is not to loud or hectic. Our room was very quiet, extremely clean, and the air conditioning was excellent. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful and the staff was very courteous. The buffet breakfast was worth the price- the food was exceptional and plentiful for all tastes. We would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a great four star hotel experience.
The beds and pillows could have been a bit more plush by American standards, but the room was a good size, lovely, and spotless.
