It was the perfect place for me to stay while discovering can the real neighborhoods of your beautiful city!
Pros:

I absolutely LOVED my stay. It was exactly what I was hoping for when I chose this place. I loved the vibe…every member of the staff was amazing when I interacted with them! The driftwood room was so nice to be able to come “home” and yet still be able to chill for a night cap in a cool place. Curt is rad!

Cons:

I have to really think about this but…the only complaint I would have was that the shower drain was kinda slow.

100 more dollars more then expected and yes on-site parking but you pay an extra $40 bucks.

Don’t stay here.
Cons:

The checkin was slow. I had paid all taxes while booking but the front desk guy insisted that city taxes had to be paid. Finally a manager came in and clicked some buttons and said I was all said. Thought that was the end of it. But the hotel still charged me the taxes and to make it worse charged me a “pet fee” and damage fee. I had no pet in the room - was traveling for business and there was no damage. I called a couple of times but never heard back from the hotel. I have now disputed the cc charge.

Pros:

Great location! The hotel is near all of our favorite restaurants and music venues. We will be back for sure. Make sure to try out the restaurants too. The hostess, Erin, at Gracie's was lovely and we had great laughs.

The theme was pleasant and the staff were very informative

The bed wasnt what was booked, the mini fridge wasnt clean and had spots and the window in the bathroom wasnt closable

Love the design and vibe. The room was huge and posh in a vintage way. Location was perfect.

Portland landmark hotel restored to a high level of comfort with extraordinary staff.
Pros:

Front desk guy, Andrew was truly amazing. Attentive, high energy, kind. Erin in the restaurant was so friendly and helpful. An amazing location and restored “old-fashioned” place. The decor was a joy to experience

Pros:

The locked parking garage

Cons:

It stinks. The shower was non-operational ( the mechanism to switch the water flow to the shower head did not work) . The room was cleaned but so old and stained there’s no way to say it’s actually “clean” .. gnarly carpet.
I was charged $20 for “amenities” that I never used.
The restaurant was literally a ghost town. I stood there for 5 minutes to get breakfast and nobody ever came out from the back. It was open, and there were like 5 employees of the hotel chatting at the front desk while I waited. I eventually just went to my room, gathered my belongings and checked out early and cut my losses. This hotel is in a bad way and should close and re-group.

I think it was great and the bed was lavish me and my girl enjoyed it they was very divirest to me my check in wa very fast and I will be going back again I give them six starz thank you and the price was very doable and it was clean

Stepping back in time.
Pros:

This is a lovely older hotel near downtown Portland that has been refurbished. The room was clean and comfortable. We slept great!
The bar is cozy and the restaurant (Gracie’s) is very elegant and serves excellent food. It is currently only open for breakfast. We hope it expands that.
The theme is old time Hollywood and you feel as though you have stepped back in time.
I recommend the hotel, the restaurant and the bar highly!
