Pros:

The staff were very friendly and kind and let me into my room early which was particularly appreciated when I was not feeling that well.

Water was provided in bottles and the breakfast was delicious.

Cons:

The early morning wake up call from the nearby mosque- but im aware this is not the properties fault!! 😊

Pros:

Liked the historic character of hotel and rooftop breakfast with views (lots of stairs). Ideal central location for exploring Stonetown- easy enough to take luggage to Old Fort for taxi. Lunch good in the cafe too.

Cons:

More table area in bedroom would be useful.

Enjoyable enough
Pros:

We booked a double room months in advance. When we arrived we were given a twin room. The manager very kindly gave us a 50% discount which we appreciated but I would have liked to be told before arriving as I would have booked somewhere else.
The coffee house has fascinating antiques which were lovely to look at.
The location is great

Cons:

Communiation was lacking as I would have booked somewhere else if I had known they had overbooked and couldn't offer us a double room

A wonderful base to explore a fascinating town!

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Wonderful located. Breakfast on the rooftop was fabulous.

Absolutamente todo. Estoy segura de que si vuelvo a Stone Town me quedaré aquí. El desayuno y el café son muy buenos, mi habitacion (se llamaba “expreso”) era súper bonita, limpia y cómoda. Viajé sola y TODO el personal fue súper amable conmigo, en especial la mujer que servía el desayuno que la llevaré en el corazón para siempre. El hotel está en el corazón de Stone Town así que prácticamente todo está cerca si vas andando.

Great place to soak up the atmosphere of Stone Town.
Pros:

Amazing location right in middle of Stone Town. Fantastic building with quirky, coffee themed artefacts. As you’d expect, great coffee but also the rest of the food we had was delicious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

A Wonderful Stay in the Heart of Stone Town!
Pros:

We spent two nights at this hotel and had a fantastic experience staying in the Arabic Suite. The room was beautiful, well-maintained, spotless, and very comfortable—we slept so well!
The breakfast was excellent, and the coffee was truly outstanding. We also had lunch here, which turned out to be delicious as well.
The location couldn't be better: right in the heart of Stone Town and just a short walk from all the main attractions. Highly recommended!

A sultan’s paradise in Stonetown
Pros:

The Zanzibar Coffee House is an exceptionally beautiful historical property in Stonetown. The staff is friendly & welcoming. The food is good & they have the best coffee. Rooms are comfortable & very spacious. I highly recommend staying there. The beautiful Secret Garden Restaurant is only a couple minutes walk away. Their food is delicious & we so enjoyed the live music with the talented Zanzibar musicians on Friday evening. Live music is on Wednesday & Fridays only.
