One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.
Pros:

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. At $400+ per night over a long weekend, I expected much more from a Hyatt.

Our room was hot and muggy with non-working A/C when we arrived, the in-room safe didn’t work, the tub had rust stains and wouldn’t drain properly, and the bathroom counter had large chunks of granite missing. The patio chairs were torn and frayed, and despite multiple requests, we never received cushions (though others in our party had cushions on their patio). The couch was stained and badly worn.

Housekeeping never cleaned our room until one night I tracked housekeeping down and asked they empty the garbage and replace the towels. I repeatedly asked to move rooms or pay for an upgrade and was told everything was sold out, yet my sister’s room on the opposite side of the hotel was clean and issue-free.

To top it off, the elevator got stuck on our way to checkout. We had to pry the doors open and carry our luggage down flights of stairs. The front desk showed no concern and simply said they’d “let engineering know,” then asked for an additional $93 resort fee when I had already paid the full amount for the room.

Very disappointing experience overall.

STAY AWAY!!! Worst hotel experience of a well traveled life
Pros:

STAY AWAY! As a decades long loyal Hyatt loyalist, this hotel not only is ruining our stay in Palm Springs, it has irrevocably broken my loyalty to the Hyatt name. This hotel is THE WORST — so bad that we are going to check out in the morning, after one night, and cancelling a five day planned vacation here.

To say our room is outdated and broken down is an understatement, with seriously torn wallpaper and disgusting carpeting over an uneven floor. It is boiling hot with temperature that is NOT manageable from the room (luckily it is 50 degrees outside so we will fix that by keeping the balcony doors open all night). It smells.

And get this: the bedroom ceiling lights are on a motion sensor. Roll over in bed (or if your partner does or goes to the bathroom) and the entire room lights up for five minutes. In the middle of the night. UNBELIEVABLE.

Bad on me. I booked blindly because I have grown to understand what to expect from the Hyatt brand. Now that I read reviews here, I can see that I am not alone. But I cannot believe there are ANY reviews above 1* …

Hyatt you have lost a customer by allowing this to represent your brand.

Hotel is old and in desperate need of renovation
Pros:

The hotel location is great. But if you want a good nights sleep, friendly service, air conditioning, a toilet seat that isn’t falling off, working phones, or a door that locks, go elsewhere. This hotel is in terrible condition

The hotel was very quiet and clean. the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel could use an update, but it wasn't a deal breaker.

Nice restful stay in Palm Spring
Pros:

This is an extremely well located property in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. The pool and hot tub are exceptionally nice. The room/suite is a nice size with refrigerator. Ice machines are also well located and functional! The balcony with views of downtown and the desert landscape was also enjoyable. Self-parking is a breeze also.

Totally Dissapointed
Pros:

As a frequent Hyatt customer, I was completely underwhelmed by my experience at this property in Palm Springs. Some areas of this property have clearly experienced neglect. We were assigned to a room on the 5th floor that has exterior facing doors. Nowhere in the hotel's images does it reflect exterior facing doors; had that been the case, we would have never booked. The area to access the room was disappointing and clearly in need of attention. The carpet in the hallway was filthy and inside the room, the carpet was stained with some rusted fixtures. What was intended to be a 3-day weekend at this property was cut short. We immediately checked-out after the first night.

Tired in Palm Springs
Pros:

Great staff, great location, very tired hotel, we travel with our dogs, over the last few stays the hotel is getting more and more old feeling, love the retro style, but peeling wall paper, stained carpet and a/c that thermostat only had on and off, no temperature adjustment, no automatic fan or control. It needs a little love to give it the Palm Springs vibe.

It is what it is!
Pros:

When we arrived at the hotel staff were great. Once we arrived at our hotel room, we noticed a leak in the bathtub faucet. We asked numerous times and never got it fixed.

Room Temperature Preset by Management
Pros:

No matter how hot it is outside, or no matter how cold it is, you will never be able to adjust your thermostat to a temperature that you want.

For example, I was there in the middle of winter. I set the thermostat at 76° and left it on while I was gone for about 4 hours. When I came back it was 72° which is exactly what it was before I left.

Engineering explained to me that the hotel is so old that the heating and cooling run on how much hot and cold water is pumped through the pipes through the pipes. They set this water to about half and half, half cold half hot, throughout the hotel.

So, no matter how hot or cold you may want it, you don't have that option.

Additionally, the very loud and noisy HVAC system has to stay on all the time just to maintain a constant temperature.

I froze that night and got very little sleep but still had to pay for the room.

Really, it's not worth it.

Central Location, Large Units, Great Mountain Views
Pros:

My wife and I stayed at the Palm Springs Hyatt for 14 days in January. Our suite of two rooms and a bath was quiet and comfortable; had a wonderful view of the San Jacinto Mountains; and was well-equipped by the kind, attentive housekeeping staff. The room rate was somewhat on the high side but was, by Palm Springs standards, probably fair. My wife enjoyed the swimming pool a great deal and I enjoyed the weight room and hot tub. Finally, we were served warmly and attentively by Citlalli at the front desk upon arrival and departure. She does a fine job and deserves recognition for her service.

Great location, outdated rooms.
Pros:

The location is great! The rooms are worn down, lots of lights not working, A/C didn't work and room smelled like cat pee. It may have been great in the 80s, but not sure it's been updated since. I'd choose elsewhere. We were hyatt members using points, but I'd pay for something else next time! However, pet friendly and really a great location.

Not a very comfortable stay
Pros:

Unfortunately the hotel is very run down which we usually dont mind as long as it is clean. Our bathroom sink managed to flood the entire counter space with some leak. The showers were never warm let alone hot. So two out of 5 of our party took cold showers and the rest waited until we got to our next hotel the following night.

Skip it by all means
Pros:

So gross. Dirty. Needs a major revamp. Lots of wasted space. Haven’t seen a bathroom like that since my grandmother died. Sink doesn’t drain. Stains on all of the furniture. I wouldn’t dare take a shower in that bathroom. Toilet shoots water up in the air when flushed. Only redeemer is the location. Avoid at all costs.

Not quite Hyatt quality
Pros:

Can see that at some point this was an epic hotel but it's in dire need of a revamp. Everything felt a bit work out or dated. Location is fantastic. But rooms lack sound proofing. Older fixtures

Never expected shabby accomodations!
Pros:

As a globalist member of Hyatt, I’ve grown to expect rather lovely accomodations..however; the Hyatt Palm Springs disappoints! First the positive and the reason for selecting this specific Hyatt is its location, perfectly situated in the heart of Palm Springs! Parking is easy, the public areas light and bright, nice pool area, decent bar and lovely breakfast. Also the staff are helpful and personable! All seemed well until we actually went to the room!

As a member reward were upgraded at booking to a pool side suite. Here’s where it went downhill. Our Cabana Suite was outdated, shabby, smelled like old smoking with thin walls and a pull out couch far beyond its sell-by date by about 20 years. The mattress was thin, the springs poked and the lower third was perpetually elevated! I was traveling with my adult daughter and required separate beds. It's a shame it was such a disappointment because the hotel and staff were lovely and while we could tell the room was cleaned properly, no amount of cleaning would make it habitable. I cannot in good faith recommend this location as it does not live up to Hyatt standards.

To answer your predictable question, no we did not ask to be moved. After all, this was the upgrade and couldn’t imagine a regular room. Also, we had plans for the evening and didn’t want to take up our limited time complaining and moving.

I would not choose this hotel again. Outdated. Carpets everywhere. Worn out furniture. Water not draining properly in bathroom.
Positives are heated pool and close to shops.

Great, would stay again
Pros:

Location is great (central to downtown Palm Springs, walkable to restaurants, bars, and shops). Hotel and room are beautiful. The pool is nice (private and big). Everything was very clean and staff friendly. Just would like a few more outlets near the bed or wherever people charge their phone.

Not as good as it seems.
Pros:

Rooms are not very clean, there is a charge of $30.00 per day for parking plus an extra $20.00 per day for using their amenities. Such as the gym, bikes, 2 bottles of water in the room and coffee, even if you don't use any of those items.
