Perfect for a 4 day stay. Ideal location on the Royal Mile and just a short walk from all the main attractions and transport links. Plenty of pubs on the doorstep too. Our room was surprisingly quiet (given the busy location), clean and very comfortable.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout. We arrived early to drop off our bags but the room was ready and early check-in was a bonus. I'm pretty sure we had a room upgrade too.
Surprised to see a criticism of the breakfast options. All the usual hot options (plus haggis and potato scones), breads, pasties, fruits, cereals, juices, pancakes etc. etc. What more could anyone want.
The pool, steam room and sauna were a bonus too. Not big enough to practice for the Olympics bit fine for a dip. Only minor frustration was very patchy Wi-Fi in the room with frequent drop-outs. Not a biggy but a pain when booking tickets etc.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Wonderful stay in Edinburgh. Hotel staff helpful and professional. Hotel smells amazing!!! Great location on Royal Mile. Will book again
My partner and I spent 2 nights here after booking a superior room with double bed we got there and room had 2 single beds so gave a new room and no heating at all told it would be on in an hour but nothing all we got was this little heater ! All I can say is the concierge was good and knowledgeable ! Apart from that just not worth the money
The hotel is well run and welcoming in an excellent location. Have visited many times and there are certain areas that are in need of renovation/upgrading. But rooms are well proportioned and spotlessly clean. Breakfast acceptable but room for improvement in choice, prevention and atmosphere. Staff are always brilliant - welcoming and professional - especially reception. Will return.
We stayed at the Radisson for my husband’s birthday, and the staff kindly decorated the bed with a banner and balloons — such a thoughtful touch. We were in room 541 for two nights. The bed was very comfortable with lovely pillows, and the room itself was spotless. Although we faced the side of the building, we barely heard any street noise.
The bathroom had a bath with toiletries provided, and the hotel’s location couldn’t have been better — perfect for the Royal Mile, with plenty of bars, restaurants, and tourist attractions within easy reach. The hotel felt safe, and the bar area was really inviting with comfortable seating. Breakfast was a generous buffet with plenty of choice, including some gluten‑free options.
The only downside was the air‑conditioning. Our room was freezing both nights, and we had to call reception to have the heating switched on. To their credit, it was sorted within minutes, but it did seem to be an ongoing issue, which I mentioned at checkout.
We also visited the spa area for a look around. Although we couldn’t use the facilities this time for personal reasons, the pool looked great and the treatment area smelled lovely.
Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay again.
As a solo traveler, this is an excellent hotel. I felt very safe coming and going very early to late in the evening. The rooms, amenities & hotel lobby are very clean and well kept. The location is centrally located on the Royal Mile so it's convenient to walk to all of the sights in Old Town within minutes and about a 6-7 minute walk to all the bus tour starting points at Waterloo. It's also only about a 5 minute walk from Waverly Station where the Airlink Airport Bus Shuttle drops/picks you up for the 30 min ride. The hotel staff is very friendly, welcoming and willing to answer all the touristy questions. Again, the location is GREAT. Sites, great food, pubs & live music are literally all around the hotel. The pick up for the day trips to the highlands is also about 100-150 yards up the street.
Me and my husband stayed at The Radisson, Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago. We were warmly greeted by Natasha and Zoey. These young ladies are an absolute credit to the hotel. They even remembered us from a stay two months prior to this one. They were very helpful and we had a good laugh with them. It makes such a difference to be greeted in this manner and really sets the tone for your stay.
Our room was lovely and had everything you could need for a short stay, including plenty of storage. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom was excellent.
We had breakfast but unfortunately this had not improved since our last stay. The bacon was desperately undercooked and other items seemed of poor quality. Also little room to put your plate down as you lift the lids on everything. This is such a shame as everything else about this hotel is wonderful.
This would not put us off returning as it’s the only hotel we would want to stay in Edinburgh, but would forego breakfast.
This is a lovely hotel in a good location. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are light and airy with comfortable beds, plenty of lights, and very clean. The en-suite had a bath as well as a great shower. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, I did think at the price a biscuit or two would have been nice but you did get complementary bottled water. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
We shall definitely come here again.
Had a fantastic stay at the hotel, staff very friendly, (Natasha the concierge was super helpful) very clean, great facilities and fabulous location. will definitely stay here again.
What can I say.
Radisson?...
Not as I used to remember.
Very low equipted room.
Breakfast medium
Cold and the airconditioner not 100%
Excellent trip to Edinburgh, Hotel clean and efficient as always, location on the royal mile is excellent, plenty of pubs and dining within minutes. Would highly recommend
Stayed in December for our anniversary and what a great experience in a lovely hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful and they even decorated our room with balloons and a banner which was such a lovely touch. Hotel itself is lovely with great facilities. I’d recommend trying to use the leisure facilities first or last thing as it can become crowded quickly, especially if families with children as it’s not really set up for that, more of a relaxing spa leisure set up. Drinks were lovely and breakfast buffet had everything you could want. Would recommend and look forward to staying again.
We stayed at Raddison Blu for our 10th wedding anniversary we arrived early and were able to check in to our room we payed for a room with a view which was sub par the room was nice but not worth the extra. The room was clean the bed was comfortable and the extra touches like balloons and a banner was welcome would stay here again but would not pay the extra
Hotel is in centre to everything 5 minute walk to train station and about 7 minutes to castle which you could add longer with shops and bars lol
This is a perfect place to stay in Edinburgh. It is centrally located on the Royal Mile which makes it easy to get to all of the sites. The staff was great and made us feel at home.
While the hotel is in a central and very convenient location, and the staff is very nice and friendly. we did not have heating in the room for the entire stay.
The room was very big as we paid (a lot) for a better room, but it had no furnitures in it. The bed was tornd and used, so very uncomfortable, there was a tiny coffee table with only one seat, so that we could not even sit together; and the desk was one of the smallest I have ever seen in any hotel.
The main issue was the heating. we had to sleep with clothes on and when asked the staff to help, they told us that when it's very cold outside the heating doesn't work properly as too many people use it. So we sat and slept in the cold for two days.
Stayed here at new years, three day stay. Busiest night of the year and they were excellent on all fronts.Service was superb and the location was perfect.
Great location in old town, close to the castle. Downhill is the train station, shopping and new town. Lot's of dining choices just outside the front door. Rooms are spacious and modern. Breakfast was good with the option of ordering items not on the buffet.
I made an error by booking via 3rd party & somehow booked our stay for Christmas 2026. The hotel staff were absolutely phenomenal in helping me get the booking cancelled so we could rebook directly with them. Huge shoutout to Zoe, Anna, & Natasha - they saved Christmas for us!
We stayed here for a birthday celebration and we sadly did not receive a warm welcome or any interest shown as to the purpose of our stay. Upon arrival we were told our room was not ready this is despite turning up over 30 minutes after the allocated check in time. When we finally got to our room, despite the details we provided at the time of booking and at check in, the room was not set correctly. The duvet cover had a very obvious hole on the duvet cover. Reception was unanswered so we had to go back down to reception with our bags and suitcases to report the issue. We were provided with drink tokens x2 to use for a drink each due to another unrelated issue in room to do with the toilet flush constantly flushing. We were told they would find us to let us know when our room was correctly prepared and ready for our stay.
We found the bar staff to be quite rude and again disinterested. No offer of assistance as I carried drinks with a tray, bags and a suitcase!
We had to chase the progress of our room with reception/check in staff and finally got into our room for 16:45, which was not ideal nor a good start to our stay here.
The view was disappointing, a small window with bottles, rubbish and other items dumped in the guttering, which was off putting. We won’t pay extra for the ‘scenic’ view should we stay here again. The TV reception was hit and miss. There was a heater in the room, which was a clear indication that the heating is just sufficient in the room or to expect problems. At times we were too cold or were blasted with the heat from the portable heater.
We found the breakfast team to be pleasant and efficient. There is plenty of choice and the rooms albeit are downstairs and in the back were good sized rooms, nicely decorated.
Location a short walk from train station.
