We were scheduled for a late 8pm ferry home and the ferry got canceled at 6pm which was completely out of the blue and unusual. It was a holiday weekend and we were looking for a last-minute hotel. The service was spectacular. They accommodated us above and beyond our expectations. The staff was very kind and very generous. They offered us a complementary drink. Our accommodations is everything we could’ve hoped for and more. Very clean. Atmosphere is amazing. Location is perfect. We can’t wait to come back for a planned visit lol!!!
Our stay was quite disappointing. I booked two standard king rooms, however upon check in we realized that one of the rooms was super tiny, more like petite queen with a king bed in it, it was difficult to move around it. The closet was so tiny my husband had his clothes in the suitcase the whole time. We reported the issue to the front desk to which they said the descriptions and the photos on the hotel website are just models and don't always represent the actual room. It was our daughter's birthday, so I didn't want to spoil the weekend and left the issue alone. In addition to the room situation, the overall service was very mediocre. We chose not to have our room cleaned or bedding changed but asked to freshen up the towels once (there is no place to hang them to dry in the bathroom, it was that tiny!). It took the staff a few hours to do and they never picked up the towels that were not fresh. I also asked for a different hairdryer because the attachment didn't work. It also took a while. I dried my hair, got ready and left. Upon my return I found another hairdryer that didn't have attachments at all. We also found forgotten items under the bed, which means the room wasn't cleaned very well after the previous guest. Both bed and bath linens are not of the quality I would expect at a luxury hotel. One of the sheets on our bed was ripped. The shower head in the shower is not adjustable, so your hair always gets wet. The free bikes were not available one time we wanted to use them. The staff is friendly enough but doesn't offer any recommendations or suggestions. I asked if the restaurant served breakfast, and they simply said No. I would think they could've offered a recommendation of where we could've gotten breakfast instead. I wish I loved our stay at Faraway hotel but I couldn't wait to get back home. The only nice thing about the hotel was the garden.
Beautiful room and outstanding staff. Would love to stay there again!
Wonderful place to stay
Great staff, very helpful
Highly recommended!
Charming little place… had the best bed!
Beautiful decor and friendly accommodating staff, free towels and chairs for the beach, everyone was awesome!
Loved everything about this place - charm, perfect location, great staff. Highly recommend.
The staff is very nice. The room was clean. The sheets are great. The rooms need lamp light. And the room was on first floor overlooking neighbors trash so we kept shades down so the room was super dark and a bit depressing.
The check in was problematic. The front desk was not gracious and bumbled through the process.
Our room was considered a petite king. It was extremely small. There was little room to move freely about. With maybe 16-20 inches wide between the wall and the bed. It is not safe for the disabled or anyone who might be a fall risk. Please make sure to get a suite if you need space to move. There is virtually no closet space as the closet is full with a refrigerator and safe and there is less than maybe 8 inches of space to hang on the enclosed bar. There is no room for dresses, pants, suits or longer coats. It is a beautiful property but comes with disappointment in your room options.
Our Nantucket stay was wonderful and everything was perfect!
This was truly an exceptional property. The staff was attentive & friendly, the rooms were pristine & the property was beautiful.
As with most hotels on KACK they are very expensive and not nice enough to cost so much. This hotel is not different. The cost is about location. The hotel is made from bunch of very old houses, each one a maze on the inside with many staircases and tight hallways, and very small rooms.
The bad is I booked through “hotels” and when I checked in they billed my card the cost of a night stay (200$ cheaper than what hotels charged) instead of incidentals. They this was a cryptic $460 charge on my card from “center street”. Took a while to get it squared away.
Very small room. Not much space between bed and wall or the other side the bed and stand alone closet.
Property is in a very nice location and the property grounds are nice.
Super cute spot! Loved the hotel.
I stayed in a mini-queen in Hawthorne. Very easy to hear all goings on in the building. Of course this is an old building, so not surprising…but be prepared.
We love staying at The Faraway! We always love it every year. We will be back next year.
Front desk area was so small and crowded. There’s no lobby, no gym, or any other amenities. Room was small and the wall was paper thin. Room cleaning only came one day for the entire 3 night stay. The worst part was the alarm in the hallway went off in the middle of the night (3am) and we called the front desk immediately, but nobody came to fix it until the morning. It went on for hours and kept us up! All we got was an apology note with chocolate. It’s not worth the price and I won’t be returning.
Great stay. Lovely hotel.
Amazing
Really enjoy staying there. Make my trip to Nantucket perfect.
