We've stayed at the Lyzzick on a good number of occasions and it's never disappointed. There are new owners of the property and the place has had a facelift which has brought it into the modern era. There's a beautiful new bar and seating area and if we were locals, the Lyzzick would definitely be our go to place on a regular basis.
The hotel is as usual spotless and warm and the restaurant has views to remember to last a lifetime. Food is amazing and the new decor, down to cups and glasses have really impressed.
The one thing that never fails here, is the staff themselves. Everyone is so welcoming, happy and good for a chat. We really would of extended our stay here if it wasn't for already booking another night elsewhere in the Lake District but we'll be back in the summer and look forward to seeing what the owners do next. Thank you to all

Great food
They don't have lifts, so quite a few stairs may be an issue for some.
Quality ingredients cooked well

Excellent staff , superior food , I think a bit disappointed that we were not told that it was under renovation so there was a smell of paint and a lot of noise which was disappointing
The Staff and food were brilliant .when it is finished it will be the stand out place to go .The location under Skidaaw if fantastic...we just feel had we had been told we would have booked another hotel
We had a meal in the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. It was exceptional - one of the best meals we have had! The staff couldn't have been any better either, so friendly and accommodating, they made our stay so comfortable - we will definitely come again.
The only minor things to bare in mind is that some rooms required a bit of going up and down stairs, which can be a bit tedious if you're back after a bit of hiking, so if you struggle with stair it might be worth asking for a room with easier access. But such a minor thing.
The property is beautiful, the location and breakfast views were fantastic.
Location.
Staff.
Food.
Price for the suite was too high for 2 reasons: the heating within room was controlled centrally in hotel meaning guests can't adjust in room and being over kitchens created noise at 7am when staff started.
Room was a good size and very clean. Excellent breakfast with lovely views and the staff couldn't do enough for you would defo stay here again!
Comfier bed
Staff friendly, food great, room was lovely,, location beautiful.
Nothing
Room was luxurious with fantastic views of the mountains, hotel decor is beautiful, outside terrace has breathtaking views, Staff are professional, friendly and helpful, comfy lounge area for relaxing, restaurant also has amazing views and the food is fantastic, pretty gardens, short drive into Keswick.
We found it a bit odd that at breakfast, there was no cereal, fruit, yoghurt etc you only got the option of a cooked breakfast, as this hotel is more on the expensive side, we would have expected a full breakfast offering. We also found the price of drinks very expensive, £22.50 for a large glass of wine! Evening meal options were only 2 courses for £45 per person or 3 courses for £55 per person, no option to just have a main course.
We got a free upgrade to our room which was a pleasant surprise. Staff were incredibly welcoming and gave us accurate directions to the room. Room had an amazing view and the bed was incredibly comfy. Bathroom wowed us.
The hotel layout was confusing but staff were able to help.
Breakfast was excellent, and dinner was exceptional!
View from the room was marginal.
The view from the room was marginal. Our room was on the highest floor, and there was no lift so bringing the luggage to the room was difficult for us.
