The rooms are nice, we got the view of the garden courtyard which was just fine. The Bathrooms are small but efficient and perfectly clean. Staffs were generally helpful. Breakfast and dinner are of good quality and well arranged, 4 star and a good value for the price charged. We like the lounge where they have coffee/ tea and all day snacks/ late night snacks and plenty of seatings for work & socializing. They even offer alcoholic drinks to one’s own mix. I reckon the young gens would enjoy this hotel.
The location is good, in a quiet area and in a walkable distance to Gora station & the Hakone Open Air Museum (10 min downhill perhaps).
Some of us tried the private onsen, but the queue can be long, no booking required.
We checked the hotel has an elevator, but we were put in the West wing and to get to our rooms, we need to stop at the lounge floor and walk up about 10-15 steps of stairs connecting to our wing. That was not easy with our luggage at our age! Upon check-in, the lady at the reception asked the young man to help us out. Thank you so much. But checking out, there was only one reception so we hauled the luggage down those stairs.
I think they should make a ramp/ slope for luggage at the stairs. It only takes about 70 cm width at the most.
Good location, close to 2 train stations and busses that can take you to some of the museums. Rooms are spacious and nice, very clean. Onsens are great.
I did not love the buffet. Although a lot of options, many things are not super fresh and a lot of fried food. When I asked to check out 1 hour later than the normal check out time they said they would charge me, did not like that.
Outdoor patio with fireplace and soaking pool was very inviting. Buffet dinner and breakfast was fantastic! Nice rooms.
Layout is a bit confusing…but not majorly so
Location is great. The room (condominimum building) was spacious. Breakfast buffet varied every day of our stay. The staff was very kind and spoke english so communication was easy.
Complimentary snacks and alcohol in the evening was definitely a plus. There a small "spa" in the hotel that offers massages and facial treatments.
Just a detail really, but we felt that the room was lacking shelves to unpack clothes and nooks in the bathroom to hang towels.
The location, a short walk from Gora station, was great. The rooms were spacious and the use of tatami mats made it feel more homely and comfortable. The dinner service was good, the mains were tasty and the buffet options provided extra variety. Breakfast was also at a similar level. The common areas with books and free drinks was a pleasant addition.
Minor gripe would be the lack of power outlets and light controls near the beds, but this is barely a problem in my opinion.
Tout
Rien
The library common area with free drinks and appetizers/deserts in the evening. Good breakfast and very pleasant onsen
Nothing
The very short walk from the Gora station was great. There is also a Lawson very close by. The room itself was huge and comfortable. The hot spring bath was so relaxing. Loved it. Breakfast was good, lots of options. The outlook is beautiful and peaceful. There are a couple of restaurants around but they close early. We didn't try the dinner here.
We were in the condominium building which is not connected to the rest of the hotel. You have to go outside to get to the breakfast room, the hot spring, the library area etc so unfortunately we just didn't go as we didn't want to be running back outside in wet swimmers. So we couldn't use the facilities that we booked for comfortably. Also our room was only accessible by lift and then stairs, which is annoying with large suitcases. Our tv also didn't work at all, no reception. We had to make up our kids beds on the lounge when we arrived at night.
