Our family with our grandchildren certainly was treated kindly from start to finish! Including adjoining rooms and a late checkout.
I wasn’t sure what to expect based on photos. Loved it!! Room was clean (very important), hotel is inviting and charming.
Loved Nespresso and tea options in the room!! Would definitely stay again. This would be my first pick in the area.
The food at the bar was fantastic but $25 for a drink seems over the top (same drink at Umstead was $16 for comparison).
The Inn is recently remodeled and lovely. There are many areas to sit and relax on the main level, with views of the golf course. Staff members were friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet available in the Vista Dining Room.
Another fantastic experience at the Washington Duke Inn! Our room was clean and comfortable and all of our interactions with staff were exceptional! We ate several meals in the Fairview Dining Room and the Bull Durham bar and the food and service were wonderful. Absolutely love this hotel- have been staying here for years and already have 3 more reservations booked!!!
Expensive. But I'd be hard." pressed to identify a nicer hotel. If you are Duke alum, this is the place to be. My review "must have 100 characters" so this is filler
For not standing get away with all the amenities, you would need give the Washington Duke Golf HOTEL. I tried wonderful stay great folks will return!!
What a wonderful 3 days at the Washington Duke! Cozy, warm, friendly, efficient....and so much more. The beds are phenomenal. Lovely (slightly small) bathrooms (one sink only in regular rooms), best shower in the business. We were there during a snowstorm, and the staff was so accommodating. Love the Hotel bar area, very intimate, super service, reasonable prices. Each room has it's own nespresso coffee maker, housekeeping offers regular service and turn down each night. For price paid, this winter retreat was a great, great value!
Probably phenomenal if you are a golfer during the warmer months. the property is really beautiful for golf and outdoor hiking. Self parking is very convenient and large. Restaurants are very well run, and again, made us feel very welcome!
We arrived just prior to a winter storm developing. Although roads were impassable for 48 hours, staff stayed at the hotel and kept up the excellent service that we have come to expect at the Washington Duke Inn.
Washington Duke Inn is an upscale hotel with fabulous restaurants.
All staff members are friendly, professional and courteous.
Beautiful golf course and pro shop amenities.
Well appointed rooms with everything you need.
Outstanding shuttle service and overall customer service staff are incredible.
The traditional decor, the comfortableness,
And mostly the peaceful environment. Just
Perfect!!
Can’t think of a single thing I would change.
Our adjoining rooms were very nice. I particularly enjoyed the comfortable public sitting space and outside areas to walk our dog.
The hotel is being refurbished, much of which is done. It is still a walk outside to get to the dining experience. On the positives, the staff at this hotel is super nice and the location is fantastic (for Duke) and parking is easy. The rooms are small but nice. I particularly loved getting turn down service at night. The bathrooms were fine but definitely our room could use some painting and touch up in spaces. The gym has a few treadmills and other cardio but no space to stretch really on a mat. The temperatures the days I was in it was pretty hot. They offer free water in the gym. For the price this was a great value and I would stay there again. My daughter had the buffet which I would give a pretty decent score but not top notch quality. Quantity and variety of food were certainly present at the breakfast.
The renovations are lovely. Both resturants have great food. The staff are very attentive. The only real complaint is the water pressure and the temperature of the water. Minimal water pressure and the water never got above lukewarm.
first class throughout, staff, facilities, decor, food. The hotel is classic in appearance making it feel like visiting a country home. The professionalism and courtesy of the staff is at the peak of what to expect. Food was well prepared with a menu that is both sophisticated and approachable for non-gourmets. Wine list includes more budget up to fine wines, so something for everyone. The setting in the Duke Woods is stunning and so far away from traffic and busyness.
It was nice
