Room was fine. Entry seemed tired.
Wonderful staff.
We were not informed that the hotel was under renovation; bar was not open, etc.
The bar and restaurant were under construction so we missed out on that. Overall we had a really nice trip though and enjoyed our stay
Excellent room
Great service and food. Beautiful architecture and atmosphere
Friendly staff & historical building
We came for a night out on 6th. It’s the perfect location. So clean and also a fancy hotel. Staff was wonderful. Highly recommend.
The door to our room let in noise and light/ elevators need to be cleaned / valet and house cleaning staff are excellent/ using Golds Gym a huge plus / the cafe changed the Best Cinnamon Roll ever the new version is mediocre…and the front desk forgot to add to my Bonvoy acct
Lot's of history and charm and a very accommodating staff made for a wonderful stay at The Driskill in Austin!
Blood on the sheets and headboard. Shower wouldn’t shut off.
Beautiful hotel and welcome drinks on arrival.
Beautifully restored property
I was very disappointed that the bar was closed and there was no fine dining on offer. The room was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were very nice. The staff were great. I loved staying at the Driskill but was disappointed by the lack of amenities.
Great classic TX hotel but GET THE BAR OPEN
The most unique experience we had would be with Manny. He was outstanding in his professionalism, attentiveness and readiness to assist us, he alone made the experience unmatched by any other hotel or resort we visit. I also want to give a shout out to Evan and Chris for all of the answers they gave the boys regarding the hotel, the ghosts and the hotel rules...they answered about 1000 questions with the patience and knowledge making the stay very special.
AMAZING GORGEOUS OLD HOTEL! Incredibly well maintained old hotel. Entrance is beautifully done. Staff was amazing & helpful. Great location, great 1886 Cafe. Five stars all the way around. Put the Driscoll on your bucket list!
Staff was A1! Super pleasant, extremely helpful, and genuinely nice — truly made the stay feel welcoming.
The hotel itself is historic, which comes with a certain charm (and a bit of a historical scent). They did have a strong fragrance in the hallway near the rooms, which might be lovely to some, but I personally found it overwhelming.
I stayed in the petit queen room, which was spacious with high ceilings. However, the windows were frosted, so there was no view or natural light coming in. That detail should really be disclosed ahead of time, especially for guests who might feel claustrophobic. I honestly felt a bit like I was in Flowers in the Attic.
The bathroom was visually nice but extremely compact — the corner shower was so small I had to keep turning the water off and on to bathe. The sink was tiny and squeezed into a corner, flanked by two narrow mirrors. Definitely felt more like an RV setup than a hotel bathroom.
That said, the bed was okay comfy and the room had both AC and a ceiling fan. Large TV.
Overall, I’m giving this place 4 stars. It’s truly a beautiful property with standout staff — just be aware of the quirks that come with a historic hotel.
Unique hotel with lots of history. Smells are definitely a distraction but nice features. Shower had half a door. Lots of lighting. Great location.
The staff, building details, and sheets on the bed compare to nowhere else. My favorite hotel stay ever.
