Pros:

Hotel is very clean. Staff is pleasant. Their breakfast is delicious and hot!!! We've stayed there multiple times while visiting the UP.

Clean, comfortable, and serves a great breakfast.
Pros:

The air filtration system in the hotel must be very good. Despite lots of smoke in the area due to Canadian wildfires, the air in the hotel was clean and fresh! Thanks for welcoming our dog.

Cons:

One of the staff members told me that I would have to wait for housekeeping at 9 AM the next morning to get some clean towels. We were coming from a week of camping, and we dirtied all our towels immediately. Fortunately, someone higher up at the front desk told him to get me fresh toels right away.

Pros:

This Holiday Inn is very nice and it is always clean. The staff is friendly every time we stay.

Cons:

It is clean and easy to find. Also close to Michigan Tech campus.

Hospitality needs improvement

Staff needs training, one person extended my stay via phone, at check in issues with staff not knowing how to handle the extended night. Called me twice in eve of my stay, at check out explained the first staff member shouldn’t have extended etc. sorry but your training issues aren’t my problem. Very poorly handled!!! Hospitality should be top priority don’t make your issues my problem. Sorry for the negativity but you asked.

Location of hotel was great & cleanliness of the hotel was great!
Pros:

Location was great. The free coffee in the dining area was a nice perp. Plenty of hot water.

Cons:

We felt the pillows & mattress were too soft! There were no blankets—only a top sheet & a weird quilted top. The shower flooded the bathroom—needed to get the maintenance man to explain how to get water from the 2 nd shower head. Alot of the channels on the TV came up as unavailable. Lo

Pros:

Place was very clean. Appreciated the room to spread out bags, etc.
Had to use conference room for family gatherings. Glad that was available.

Cons:

Breakfast was mediocre. Hard to find healthy choices. Even the cheerios had sugar.
Also, as expensive as a chicago hotel!
