Pros:

Our room was very spacious and attractive and we had a lovely terrace looking out to the plaza below. It was a two-level suite which provided two bathrooms – very handy for when two people are getting ready at the same time.
It was very convenient to be able to drive right up to the front door and have valet take over from there. There is a very spacious area in front to pull up.
To me, the most important feature a hotel can provide is its customer service, and on this front the Villa Real deserves the highest marks. Before we even arrived, the staff were very helpful in resolving an error having to do with our reservation (and for this our booking service of Booking.com was not nearly as helpful). The desk staff were also very helpful and friendly, and one assisted me in scheduling a nearby manicure. For these reasons and the incredible convenience of the location and overall comfort of the hotel, I would strongly recommend this hotel and would stay here again. The hotel does not have a spa, but there is a pool and there is a gym.

Cons:

One thing that was odd though was that the downstairs bathroom was just a toilet (no shower or bath), yet it had hooks on the back of the door. The bathroom upstairs with the shower and bathtub did not have hooks on the door or wall, and that is where you actually could use some hooks to hang your clothes or towel. These details don’t seem well thought out. The bathroom’s interior sliding glass door leading to the toilet did not slide easily and had to be shoved to complete the closure. None of these are deal breakers, but little things like this cumulatively make the overall experience less than “five star.”

Great hotel! We loved the location near the prado. The family room was great for our family of 4. The rooftop pool and bar were also a great place to relax.

Great Staff, Very Cleanly, Roomy Enviornment, Exciting Ammenities.

Cons:

Primary Issue was Sound. Doors and walls are paper thin. Anything going on outside the room can be heard perfectly, which is bothersome when trying to rest.
