L'Hotel Alicante Gran Sol a mio parere personale gode indubbiamente di una posizione centrale e di una vista spettacolare, ma il servizio, la pulizia e la manutenzione sono un insulto ai clienti. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è semplicemente pessimo.
La nostra disavventura di famiglia è iniziata con la camera familiare (due stanze) che aveva l'aria condizionata completamente rotta. Cercando di capire il motivo del blocco e dell'aria irrespirabile, abbiamo aperto lo scomparto: come mostrano le foto, i filtri dell'aria erano totalmente intasati da uno strato spessissimo e disgustoso di polvere e lanugine, chiaramente mai puliti da mesi. Un vero e proprio azzardo per la salute.
La gestione di questo problema da parte dello staff è stata disastrosa. Prima ci hanno proposto l'assurda soluzione di stringerci tutti in una camera tripla. Rifiutato la soluzione, l'unica alternativa che sono riusciti a trovare è stata dividerci in due camere separate dislocate su piani differenti. Per una famiglia, dover dormire separati e sparpagliati per l'hotel a causa della loro inefficienza è un disagio intollerabile.
A tutto questo si aggiunge una camera decisamente sporca e trascurata, ben lontana dagli standard minimi di igiene:
• Igiene del bagno imbarazzante: Lo specchio ingranditore ha la cornice dorata completamente scrostata e ossidata, ma la cosa peggiore sono gli aloni e sporco evidente. L'asciugacapelli in dotazione era visibilmente logoro e pieno di macchie di sporcizia sul manico. Il soffione della doccia è incrostato di calcare.
• Polvere e incuria ovunque: Gli angoli della stanza e i profili degli infissi presentano accumuli di polvere, vernice che cade a scaglie e sporco stratificato. La placca della serratura della porta è arrugginita e lasciata a pezzi.
• Balcone deprimente: Arredato con delle misere sedie di plastica scura da giardino, vecchie e usurate, anch'esse tutt'altro che pulite.

Fantastic location pity about the dated hotel facilities

Needs a cosmetic upgrade.
Very hard mattresses.
Lifts were on the blink all weekend.
There was a lot of walking up and down the stairs

Hotel is a bit old fashion in style and needs a revamp...but well located.
Pros:

Location is very central. Close to the city centre, beach and castle. Breakfast was fine.

Cons:

Lifts were not really adequate. Bathroom and room layout not very "modern".

The staff were helpful the breakfast was good and the cocktails great.

Cons:

The room was noisy, my room was floor 5 room 502, no view and not as described in the site.. No chair in the room and it was tired and although à good location.. absolutely no nice view !

The view, the stuff and the location were perfect

Cons:

The elevators were far too small for my stroller and we waited like forever for them to come. Also on the entry they have like one stair that its not practical and suitable with a wheelchair or stroller. The buffet also was too small and poor for a 4 star hotel witn 24 floors.( They have one floor entirely with restaurants but its not fair that its not included and you need to pay there) In our room the view was perfect but the windows were so poorly cleaned and dirty and the things like trash bin or chairs needed upgrade
