Inn at Union Square

Such a cute hotel in the center of everything. Esly was so nice. The room was clean and inviting and there was no noise at all when we were trying to sleep.

The room was cozy and comfortable. Antonio was extremely friendly and helpful, and he answered all of our questions. We had a great stay!

A Wonderful First Impression of San Francisco

I just arrived in San Francisco, and staying at Inn at Union Square has already made my trip feel special. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with genuine kindness and warmth.

A special thank you to Antonio, who was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. He took the time to answer my questions, made me feel welcome, and gave me a great first impression of both the hotel and the city. His outstanding customer service truly stood out.

The hotel is charming, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring San Francisco. I’m excited to continue my stay, and based on my experience so far, I would definitely recommend Inn at Union Square to anyone looking for a place where the staff genuinely cares about their guests.

If you booked trough Expedia you will pay twice.
The location is good, the room is good and clean.
Hotel ask for $25 day fee for some pastries and bagels they called breakfast (offered on Expedia as part of the price), purified HOT water and ice.
Nobody wants to listen to your concerns or complains.

The hotel was excellent. The rooms were clean, the location was central and convenient, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Antonio greeted us warmly and allowed us to check in early when we arrived ahead of time. He really set the tone for our stay at the hotel. We had a great experience!

We found this hotel to have wonderful & comfortable rooms & the beds were amazing. The staff were very friendly. I’d like to give a special shout out to Stella. She was so friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond to help us how to find different locations of interest in San Francisco. Because of her we enjoyed the cable car system, the piers and Alkatraz. We had a wonderful time in the city! Thank you Stella! Also, thanks for helping us get our luggage to the Uber to get to the airport on time. I recommend this hotel and it’s staff!

Incredible Location. Explore Union square within 5 mins walking. Great food options nearby. Main Powell Street Cable Car also within 9 mins walking with BART station just there allowing great connectivity to the city and beyond. City tours stops also at Union Square. Rooms were very comfortable and the included breakfast was also a great value add considering busy days for visitors. The staff was very friendly and we got lucky with an early checkin at 12 noon after an early morning flight from LA!

The entrance to the hotel is quite narrow but the welcome inside is big.
We had a 'suite' on the fourth floor, the living area looking out over Post Street. Our king size bed was very comfortable, bathroom small but adequate. This was a great location and very pleasant place to stay. A continental breakfast is included, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, toast, a variety of pastries, hardboiled eggs, juice and coffee.
The desk staff were great, special mention of Antonio whom we saw most of but the other two receptionists were also very helpful and welcoming.

Perfect hôtel for our 2 nights in SF: nice desk persons, we gave our bags to start our visit, and we had a wonderful surprise: our room was updated and we had an extra room with a coach! Our private living room!!!Our room was in the back, so very quiet. The free ( rare in SF) breakfast was also very nice and I brought some food in our room. The location is ideal, close to public transportation and Market Street. We will definitely come back here.

Watch for the $25/night extra fee that gets taken out of your card hold. It's "legal" because there's a notice but it doesn't show up in search results.

We had a great stay at The Inn at Union Square. The cost was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. We were able to check in a little early, they allowed an extra hour on check out, and stored our bags for a couple hours. Our king studio room was a good size. We did not realize we wouldn’t have air conditioning (we may have just overlooked it), but the room had a ceiling fan and the ability to open the windows cooled the room nicely.
The location is perfect to explore SF. Esly was an employee we interacted with a few times and she was exceptional. Look forward to our next stay here.

This hotel charged an additional $50 to my credit card without my authorization and continues to make unauthorized charges. I will be reporting this matter to the appropriate authorities and consumer protection channels. I will also share my experience publicly so that other travelers are aware of this situation.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a positive stay. Be very careful when providing your credit card information and make sure you fully understand all charges before checking in. In my opinion, this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a hotel, and I am extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled.
