Overall a good experience. We stay as a family of 4 in a 2-queen bed suite while visiting Lynchburg for the State Indoor Track Championship. We chose the Fairfield because of it's proximity to the Liberty Indoor Track complex (2-minutes away).
Hotel was easy to find and there was plenty of parking (parking lot was also well lit).
Check-in was fast and easy; super friendly staff. However, there was no mention of Marriott status (Lifetime Platinum) - or offer of a welcome amenity.
Room was overall nice. Bathroom in our suite was big. We made the hide-a-bed for the 1 night we stayed (clean sheets/blanket were in the closet).
Wi-fi fast and free.
Our kids went to the pool - they said it was nice (and heated)!
Breakfast was good. It was busy given all of the track athletes/families that were staying there. Still, there was plenty of food selection (waffles, bagels, scones, bread, cereal, bacon/sausage, eggs, yoghurt, etc).
The only downside was our sleep quality. The sheets/blankets used on the beds were loud. They rustled and made noises all night with every turn and twist we made. The heater was also loud - and it being a cold night (near freezing), it kicked on every 5-10 minutes (which woke us up, which made us turn in our beds, which made the sheets rustle).
Would we stay here again .... hmmmm ... we're Marriott loyalists and we'd probably try another Marriott before we stayed at this particular hotel again. However, if this was the only available Marriott, we'd happily stay again.
We have stayed at quite a few Fairfield Inns and this was one of the best. The room seemed like it had been recently renovated and everything was clean and nice. The breakfast was a rather normal Fairfield Inn lay out and was good, as usual. The check-in and check-out ladies were friendly and nice. We had instant hot water and we liked the computer desk and the style of stoppers in the bathroom wash bowl.
This place is amazing! Spotless and comfortable! Check in to checkout was smooth! Camila at front desk is wonderful!!!
Room was clean & nice. The check is staff was wonderful but the front desk women @ 5am wasn’t very friendly & wasn’t happy to ask my question of where the coffe was
They had gluten free options with breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
OK
Everything was clean and great. Parking was easy, and perfect vicinity to Liberty University. Walked to Slim Chickens for dinner.
Parking on property, clean room
We've stayed at the Fairfield several times with grandchildren. Always a warm greeting, clean & comfortable rooms, good breakfast options and great indoor pool, which is the main attraction for the youngsters!
Very clean and updated. The carpet was newly shampooed when I stayed there!
Shopoing was fine. Internet/ cable went out a few times for a few minutes
It was a lovely hotel. We enjoyed our stay!
The staff was extremely helpful.
overall good but just some relatively minor things...they use those bottles mounted in the shower for soap, shampoo, conditioner and there was no conditioner. This keeps happening to me in hotels. I love the eco-friendliness but they HAVE to fill those dang things because once you're in the shower, it's too late.
Plus there was a hair that looked like a pube on the shower soap dish. Ewwwwww!!!!
And the parking lot lights are BRIGHT and shine through the edges of the blackout curtains so bring a sleep mask.
Accommodations were perfect for our trip.
Not the best. Will not stay again, room smelled like cigarettes an marijuana
I had an issue with bathroom. They were aware and already had been working on it. They upgraded and moved us straight across the hall. Very pleasant and over to help us move. It was an executive suite. The staff was amazing the entire stay.
Convenient location, prompt check-in, clean room, excellent water pressure in shower.
Only issues were the lack of clean / healthy / gluten free / organic breakfast options, and the extremely unpleasant smell of someone smoking in a nearby room.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 out of 5)
My husband and I stayed at Fairfield Inn during move-in week for Liberty University, and we were really excited for this trip. I specifically chose this hotel because it’s right on campus—and our room actually overlooked LU! 😍 It was such a special touch. Waking up to that view made our stay feel extra meaningful. I’m seriously hoping when we return in October, we can get a top-floor room so we can soak in even more of that incredible campus. ❤️
I have to give a huge thank you to the evening staff—especially the young woman working while we were there. I didn’t catch her name, but she was so kind, helpful, and truly went above and beyond. Sadly, she got a cut on her forehead that night, and we’ve been praying she’s okay. Her kindness stood out, especially compared to the daytime staff, who were polite, but not nearly as warm or helpful. She made a real difference in our experience.
Also, the indoor pool? AMAZING. It’s large, super clean, and has plenty of seating—perfect for families or anyone wanting to relax. The fact that it’s indoors makes it a great year-round option. Loved it! 🏊♀️ One suggestion: it would be awesome if they added a hot tub to the pool area! That would really take the relaxation to the next level.
I will say—the room was very clean and nicely put together when we arrived the first night, which we appreciated. It felt fresh, tidy, and welcoming, and really set a great tone for the start of our stay.
Now, here’s why I’m only giving 3 stars: there was ZERO housekeeping during our entire stay. No fresh towels, no made bed, and not even a refill on the in-room coffee. When we asked, we were told it’s because the hotel is still under COVID-19 restrictions… FIVE YEARS later. 😡 I’m sorry, but that’s not health safety anymore—that’s just laziness and outdated policy. Guests deserve better. Either resume normal housekeeping or offer a discount to those of us who still expect basic services when paying full price. It’s beyond frustrating.
Also—small thing, but it made a difference—the laundry room really needs a change dispenser and some soap available for purchase. It would have made washing clothes so much easier and less of a hassle. Definitely something they should consider adding for guest convenience.
This hotel has so much potential—perfect location, great amenities, and one amazing staff member who made us feel truly welcome. But until they fix the service side of things, it’s hard to fully recommend. We’ll likely stay again for the view and the campus access, but I truly hope they step it up by October.
Great property in a great location ! Close to Liberty university. Amazing pool!
