Cons:

Cleaning/houskeeping service was unexpectedly poor. 2 days in a row the room was left without vacuuming despite me letting the front desk staff know about it on day 1. Wine glasses were not washed one day and taken out of the room without the replacement the other day. Eventually it was cleaned properly on Day 3. Otherwise the hotel is fine; beds are comfortable, staff is good.

Hugely disappointing for the price, would not recommend.
Pros:

Stayed for 4 days over the previous weekend. Location to attractions, transport and restaurants was excellent. Staff accommodation to my family's request to be on the same floor was appreciated. Black-out curtains were a god-send, and my view was lovely. Staff were friendly and sweet, albeit maybe new and unknowledgeable. I had a great experience with one of the bartenders, and felt she was doing a good job despite being alone and stressed during the happy hour rush, so I thanked her personally with a boutique cookie.

Cons:

My entire family had horrible sleep experiences from poor acoustics. My room was near what sounded to be multiple families with children, and I heard banging above on my final two nights. Sadly, many staff didn't seem to take pains not to let the heavy fire doors slam each time they did housekeeping. My cousin's room was under the vent mains and sat right beside the lift, so they heard everything passing through (children and service trolleys included).
My room itself was lovely, but I stirred and lifted the display curtains framing the right side of the bed board to look for more charging ports and subsequently couldn't stop sniffling and sneezing for the rest of the stay. I appreciated the cleanliness of everything else, but I think the curtains were heavily coated in dust due to neglect which affected my stay.
My biggest complaint is that I paid for breakfast to be included all 3 mornings yet found it not worth suffering the third. One day I came down 10 minutes prior to my family, and ended up waiting in a line for over half an hour. With 5 years of hospitality management experience, I was thoroughly confused. There was no visible system, and when I asked some younger staff walking by, they kept walking and mumbled "I'm new I don't know". I assumed that the line was for people who wanted breakfast but needed to pay, because there were far more empty tables than seated people. When I tried to enter, they rudely said we had to wait our turn, despite the fact that a buffet style serve your own breakfast reduces most understaffing issues, only 4 tables out of 30 had patrons. On the second day, there was thankfully only a short wait, but there was no coffee, and it seemed to affect staff manners.
Finally, when we called for some red wine past midnight, they told me no one in the hotel could enter the bar. Why would not even the Manager have an RSA for a '24/7 room service' hotel?

less-than-stellar
Pros:

The food was tasty, also proximity to Southern Cross station

Cons:

Underwhelming, subpar! It failed to impress or meet expectations giving the review. Some staff were new so they had no idea of what to do when asked questions. Organising to get my dinner was a disaster. I booked half- board- breakfast + dinner through Booking.Com only to be told I have just breakfast included in the booking.

At the restaurant, we waited 10min just to be seated, that the bar attendees even gave us food menu to go through to save time while standing. Finally when the lady came, it was disappointing that she had no idea of what to do to even help situation. When asked how the package works, she kept saying was "I don't know" every question we asked, I don't know" not even in a polite,
she was lost on what to do next. I understand she was extremely stressed as she was the only one serving, running, left, right centre 😳 telling us to go to conceige for clarification. Finally the meal came after 1hr 18min. No compensation whatsoever

Priced as a four star, delivered like a two
Pros:

Our request to have the family stay on the same floor was accommodated without fuss, and we appreciated it.

Cons:

We had broken sleep every single night, and it came down to the acoustics. The soundproofing simply isn't there. Our room sat right beside the lift, so we heard every arrival, departure and every child passing through. On top of that, the cleaning staff slammed each door they opened and closed, which made rest during the day just as difficult.
Housekeeping was inconsistent at best. Over four nights our room was turned down only once. I had to phone to request towels, and we were never given a "do not disturb" sign for the door.
Breakfast was chaos. We queued for more than twenty minutes despite plenty of empty tables sitting right there, which points squarely at understaffing. When we finally sat down there was no instant coffee, no water glasses, and on Sunday the coffee machine was out of order entirely. Serving Heinz tomato sauce at the table did nothing to lift the impression.
Room service was effectively non-existent. There was no red wine available, and what we were served instead was cask wine that was genuinely unpleasant to drink.
The service and the experience didn't come close to four star, or even three. If the hotel can't lift its standards to match its pricing, it may be worth repositioning as a budget option and setting guest expectations accordingly. As it stands, the gap between what's charged and what's delivered is hard to overlook.
