Sir Stamford at Circular Quay operates as a cashless Hotel. All payments through credit cards will attract a credit card fee of 1.52% for Visa/MasterCard/Amex. EFTPOS incurs 0% surcharge when used as a debit card, however, when used via tapping, any debit card works as a credit card and a 1.52% credit card fee will apply.

Guests must show a valid photo ID and credit card upon check in. The credit card and ID must be in the same name as the guest's name on the booking confirmation. The credit card must be the same as the one used for the reservation.

Please be advised, majority of our Deluxe King and Deluxe Double Double Rooms have Juliet Balcony - Subject to availability. Garden View or City View are subject to the room allocation.

Good location for a short stay in close to major attractions.
Pros:

The hotel is in a good location. It is around 5 mins walk to Circular Quay and 10 mins to the Opera House. The rooms are large, furnishings a bit dated but the bed is comfortable.

The hotel is about to close in a few days, and it was evident as the hotel feels a little run down with general maintenance such a torn or worn carpets in common areas and the room we stayed in probably needed a fresh coat of paint - other than that - enjoyable stay.

Would recommend but it closes in two days

Last Time
Pros:

We live in greater Sydney and choose to stay a couple of times each year because of the old world charm of the property. It will be a shame to no longer repeat here.
Staff have always been very accommodating and flexible when asked.

End of an Era Stay
Pros:

Location was good the hotel is filled and rich in history.

The outdoor pool was unexpectedly nice and warm and the options for room service was good and arrived quickly and the staff are friendly and nice and good options were available for buffet breakfast.

Beautiful hotel.
Pros:

Impressive grand interior. Stunning bar & restaurant. Great location.
Good size bathroom & bedroom. We had a lovely large room with a view. Thankyou.

Cons:

I think for the quality of the hotel, they let themselves down , charging for a barista coffee with breakfast. They do supply made up coffee. These days, it seems common to have a coffee machine for guests to use themselves.

I would definitely make this my hotel to visit every year if they had a hot tub near the pool area.

Pros:

They are tearing it down but also trashing their reputation. Things don't work and special dietary requirements are made worse by lousy kitchen and staffing. Stamford could have handled this to give themselves a positive response.... but haven't given guests a thought in their planned demolition of the building

Loved our last stay and appreciated effort made by staff but disappointed to find a bottle of red as part of our romance package was marked fir another couple - somewhat took the edge off what would have otherwise been a perfect stay.
