Best location to explore Bilbao
Pros:

This NH hotel has a spacious lobby where we spent a lot of time hanging out with friends. Once arrived, we found out that our given room didn't have a bathtub (only a shower), but thanks to the attentive and helpful staff, we could switch rooms within minutes and start exploring the city. The location is perfect as the hotel is located on Bilbao's main street, minutes away from parks, restaurants, and the famous embankment.
The breakfast was hands down the best I've had in our entire vacation in Spain - lots of variety, made to order omelets, 8 types of juice, very decent coffee, and wonderful service.

Cons:

Despite the luxury feeling in common areas, the rooms have definitely seen better days. Stains, torn fragments on the walls, and overall need for maintenance were clearly visible in both rooms we've been to. I have raised this with the reception staff, and they acknowledged. I hope that hotel management will take action to renovate the rooms, as the hotel definitely deserves to be visited.

The parking is a bit tight to enter and quite expensive, but it has an EV charging spot that works and free spaces, so not really a complaint.

We stayed for two nights and unfortunately left with a very negative impression. The room felt permanently damp, one of the towels provided was already damp and smelled of mold. The wallpaper in the shower area was peeling and crumbling from the ceiling, and a persistent smell of chlorine and moisture lingered throughout. The mattress was old and visibly worn, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep.

Friends staying in a different room reported very similar issues, so this does not appear to be an isolated case. The breakfast also failed to impress and did not meet basic expectations.

Overall, it felt like a hotel trying to squeeze every last cent out of an aging property without investing in proper maintenance. We were genuinely relieved to have only booked two nights.

Cuarto espacioso con desayuno excelente muy variado. Excelente localización a 10 minutos a pie del museo Guggenheim y de tiendas de calle
