Avoid - Hotel Cancelled my booking due to them overbooking hotel
Pros:

Nothing - Hotel cancelled my booking at last minute due to them overbooking the hotel for a group booking. No communication regarding cancellation until I tried to check-in. Staff could not figure it out, so a manager looked into it and found that reservations had cancel my room and put me next door. We were traveling as a group so totally inconvenience. Wasted an hour trying to figure it out and checking in.

Cons:

Have stayed at the hotel several times before this incident. Hotel is old and tired, especially the hallways. Plenty of better hotels at the same price point in Darwin. Only stayed here due to corporate preference but will no longer be the case.

Pros:

Full buffet breakfast comfortable setting

Cons:

Building exterior and hallways could do with a tasteful upgrade but room, lobby and dining areas had a nice plush feel. This is a classic retro building just waiting to come into its own.

Pros:

The staff and the check out time at midday

Cons:

The large queen size beds were not large. Was not great for the partner and myself. The aircon also didn’t circulate properly making the room hot while trying to sleep

Nice hotel to stay when visiting Darwin to see Kakadu
Pros:

A nice hotel with a good restaurant in house. Enjoyed the breakfast and also ate dinner here one evening. It is a good base to stay in before and after a road trip to Kakadu.

Cons:

The streets around didn't feel very safe. It was fine when we walked during the day but I would nonetheless be cautious and alert at night. This is generally a Darwin problem than the hotels.
